Alyson Ackman
Alyson Patricia "Aly" Ackman (born 6 February 1993) is a professional swimmer competing on the Canadian National Swim Team since 2013. In 2016, she retired from her professional swimming career to pursue a career as a personal trainer and swimming coach. Before her retirement, she won a silver medal in the 4 x 200 Freestyle relay and a bronze in the 4 x 100 Freestyle relay at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. At the 2014 FINA Pan Pacific Championships Ackman came 12th in the 200m freestyle, 14th in the 100m freestyle, 18th in the 400m freestyle, 4th in the 4×100 freestyle, and won bronze in the 4 × 200 m freestyle relay. Amy Vera Ackman
Amy Vera Ackman, known as Mother Giovanni (3 July 1886 – 23 August 1966) was an Australian hospital administrator and one of the Sisters of Charity. Biography Ackman was born into a Jewish family in Randwick, Sydney and was educated at the Sisters of Mercy St Mary's Convent School in Malmsbury. She studied in London and became an optometrist, and established a practice in Collins Street, Melbourne in 1912. She became one of the Sisters of Charity, and made her vows in April 1917 and became "Mother Giovanni". From early 1922 she worked in the admissions office of St Vincent's Hospital in Darlinghurst, Sydney. She was appointed the Sisters hospital administrator for Bathurst from 1932 to 1937 and Lismore from 1938 to 1941, followed by a five-year term at St Vincent's Private Hospital Sydney in Darlinghurst. Margaret Ackman was a Guyanese politician and a founding member of the People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR). Early life Margaret Ackman was born in the family of Frederick Ackman, a politician of the People's Progressive Party. Career Ackman was one of the founding members of the socialist People’s National Congress Reform and from 1969 to 1980, she represented PNCR in the Guyanese parliament. In June 1953, Ackman was elected the president of Women's Progressive Organisation's permanent committee. Robert George Ackman, (September 27, 1927 – July 16, 2013) was a Canadian chemist and professor. He was best known for his pioneering work on marine oils and Omega-3 fatty acid.
