Nokia N1
The Nokia N1 is a tablet developed by Nokia, running on Android 5.0. Unveiled on 18 November 2014, it is Nokia's first mobile device since the sale of its original mobile phone business to Microsoft earlier in the year. It was released in January 2015. Development According to Sebastian Nyström, Head of Products Business Nokia Technologies, work on the tablet began on 28 April just days after the acquisition of its former mobile phone division by Microsoft. N-1 Contingency Planning
In an electrical grid, contingency is an unexpected failure of a single principal component (e.g., an electrical generator or a power transmission line) that causes the change of the system state large enough to endanger the Security (electrical grid), grid security. Some protective relays are set up in a way that multiple individual components are disconnected due to a single fault, in this case, taking out all the units in a group counts as a single contingency. A scheduled outage (like maintenance) is not a contingency. The choice of term emphasizes the fact that a single fault can cause severe damage to the system so quickly that the operator will not have time to intervene, and therefore a reaction to every single fault has to be defensively pre-built into the system configuration. N1 (rocket)
The N1 (from , "Carrier Rocket"; Cyrillic: Н1) was a super heavy-lift launch vehicle intended to deliver payloads beyond low Earth orbit. The N1 was the Soviet counterpart to the US Saturn V and was intended to enable crewed travel to the Moon and beyond, with studies beginning as early as 1959. Its first stage, Block A, was the most powerful rocket stage ever flown for over 50 years, with the record standing until Starship's first integrated flight test. However, each of the four attempts to launch an N1 failed in flight, with the second attempt resulting in the vehicle crashing back onto its launch pad shortly after liftoff. VR Class Pr1 (original classification N1, nickname ''Paikku'', from Finnish “paikallinen”, local) was a tank steam locomotive for local passenger services of Finnish railways. The SECR N1 class was a type of 3-cylinder 2-6-0 ('mogul') steam locomotive designed by Richard Maunsell for mixed traffic duties, initially on the South Eastern and Chatham Railway (SECR), and later operated for the Southern Railway (SR). PRR N1s
The Pennsylvania Railroad (PRR) N1s was a class of 2-10-2 "Santa Fe" steam locomotives built for the Pennsylvania's Lines West. 60 engines were built between December 1918 and November 1919, and worked heavy mineral freight to and from ports on the Great Lakes until their retirement in the late 1940s. All examples were scrapped by 1950. Overview The 2-10-2 wheel arrangement, ten driving wheels with a two-wheel leading truck and a two-wheel cast KW-pattern trailing truck under a large Belpaire firebox, suited the N1s' intended purpose well. They were drag freight engines, designed to haul heavy freight up the 0.3% grade leading out of the PRR's "Lake ports," and were rated at 6000 tons (5443 tonnes) on these relatively easy grades. GNR Class N1
The Great Northern Railway (Great Britain), Great Northern Railway (GNR) Class N1 was an 0-6-2T side tank steam locomotive designed by Henry Ivatt and introduced in 1906. They were all withdrawn from service between 1947 and 1959. None have survived. Most of the class were fitted with Condensing steam locomotive, condensing apparatus and worked in the London area, from King's Cross and Hornsey depots, on empty coach trains, and on cross-London exchange freight trains. In 1914, Crewe Works built an armoured train which used a Class N1 engine. The engine was covered by a 14mm steel plate, and featured observation apertures to the front and side, closed by sliding steel shutters. Two of the Ivatt tank engines No. 1587 and No. 1590 were loaned to Crewe to be fitted with armor plating and were named HMT Norna and HMT Alice respectively.
