Maria Rasputin
Maria Rasputina (born Matryona Grigorievna Rasputina, ; 27 March 1898 – 27 September 1977) was the daughter of Grigori Rasputin and his wife Praskovya Fyodorovna Dubrovina. She wrote three memoirs about her father, dealing with Nicholas II of Russia, Tsar Nicholas II and Alexandra Feodorovna (Alix of Hesse), Tsaritsa Alexandra Feodorovna, the attack by Khionia Guseva, and his 1916 murder. The third one, ''The Man Behind the Myth'', was published in 1977 in association with Patte Barham. In her three memoirs, the veracity of which have been questioned, she painted an almost saintly picture of her father, insisting that most of the negative stories were based on slander and the misinterpretation of facts by his enemies. Masha Rasputina (Russian: Маша Распутина, born Alla Nikolayevna Ageeva, Russian: Алла Николаевна Агеева) is a Russian pop singer, who went through her peak of popularity in the 1990s and 2000s. In 2003, she scored her biggest hit, "Roza chaynaya" (Russian: Роза чайная, meaning "Tea rose"), a duet with Philipp Kirkorov. Early life Rasputina was born in Inskoy, Kemerovo Oblast in 1964 as the daughter of an employee of the local power station and an Odessa-born hydriologist. As a child, Rasputina moved to the village of Urop, where she lived with her paternal grandparents. Following her parents footsteps, Rasputina initially applied for a technical course, but dropped out as she preferred to immerse herself in music. Rasputina (band)
Rasputina is an American rock band based in New York City, known for an unconventional music style, as well as a fascination with historical allegories and fashion, especially those pertaining to the Victorian era. The group is fronted by cellist/vocalist Melora Creager, who writes the music and lyrics and creates art for the band's albums, singles, and website. History In 1989, Creager wrote a manifesto, and placed an ad in The Village Voice seeking women to form an electric cello choir. Julia Kent, then an editor at the Village Voice, was the first respondent. The original group of nine was whittled to three. They named themselves "Rasputina", after one of Creager's songs. The group performed frequently and became a local favorite in New York City. Columbia Records' A&R representative and producer Jimmy Boyle saw the group perform at a New York festival.
