Zero (Indian Band)
Zero is an Indian rock band founded in 1998. While they played what was supposed to be their last concert at Independence Rock XXIII on 30 August 2008, they have since reunited to play gigs on an annual basis. Zero released their first record, ''Albummed'', in 2000. They followed it two years later with ''Hook''. Their third, and most recent album, ''Procrastination'', came out in 2005. Alternative Rock
Alternative rock (also known as alternative music, alt-rock or simply alternative) is a category of rock music that evolved from the independent music underground of the 1970s. Alternative rock acts achieved mainstream success in the 1990s with the likes of the grunge, shoegaze, and Britpop subgenres in the United States and United Kingdom, respectively. During this period, many record labels were looking for "alternatives", as many corporate rock, hard rock, and glam metal acts from the 1980s were beginning to grow stale throughout the music industry. The emergence of Generation X as a cultural force in the 1990s also contributed greatly to the rise of alternative rock. Only Much Louder (OML) is an Indian artist management, event management company and a content production house that was co-founded by Vijay Nair and Girish "Bobby" Talwar and Arjun S Ravi in Mumbai. It informally began, in 2002, as an independent artist management venture by Nair and was officially incorporated in 2006 by Talwar and Nair. The company produces live events—music, comedy—alongside digital and TV content. It manages a roster of artists which include comedians and musicians. OML also ran a ticketing and technology platform, Insider.in, which was acquired by PayTM in 2017. Blackstratblues is a musical project of Warren Mendonsa, an Indian guitarist and composer based out of Auckland, New Zealand. Earlier Blackstratblues albums were solo efforts, and more recent releases have been group collaborations—all self-released by Mendonsa. The project has published six studio albums and two live albums as of . Mendonsa previously played lead guitar in the Indian rock band Zero. He is the nephew of Bollywood composer Loy Mendonsa of Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy fame.
