Zeckenrap
Zeckenrap (named after the pejorative '' Zecke'') is a subgenre of German hip-hop dealing with political left themes such as antifascism, feminism and queer content. History In the beginnings in the 1980's, like in American hip-hop the political character was the main focus in German hip-hop, dealing with themes such as racism and everyday problems. With the commercialization of German hip-hop music in the 1990's these political themes lyrically became more and more a background aspect. Even though, groups such Advanced Chemistry or Anarchist Academy still wrote songs about political themes. In the 2000's, the network ''HipHop Partizan'' was responsible for the establish of rap music within the left scene in Germany. Beginning in 2012, the rap collective ''Tick-Tick Boom'' contributed in spreading of the term ''Zeckenrap''. Between 2012 and 2015, the collective regularly hosted a ''Zeckenrapgala''. Tick (pejorative)
Tick () is a common term used in Germany's right-wing extremist environment to degrade and insult those who think differently, especially leftists and Punks. It has been used since at least 1992 by neo-Nazi skinhead groups, first often as "left-wing tick" (), which became commonly shortened to simply "tick" by 1998. According to today's right-wing extremist ideology so-called ticks are seen as the main concept of the enemy and are regarded as "un-Germans ideologically and culturally". The degradation of humans to ticks, i.e. parasites, ties in with the animal metaphors used in the language of Nazi Germany. The terms "pests" and " Jewish parasites" were widespread in National Socialism. Today these pest metaphors are also widely used in right-wing extremist music and can also be seen as indirect incitement for killing.
