Yours And Owls
Yours and Owls is a music booking company based in Wollongong, Australia. It organises the annual music festival of the same name, which began in 2014. The brand was founded when university graduates Ben Tillman, Adam Smith and Balunn Jones opened up a coffee shop in Wollongong in 2010 that would regularly host live music. The trio opened up dive bar La La La's in 2019, which has become one of Wollongong's most popular music venues. Yours and Owls manages the music events of several venues on the east coast of Australia. In partnership with independent record store Music Farmers, the company also owns the record label Farmer and the Owl. The Yours and Owls festival began in 2014 with a line-up including Hockey Dad and Sticky Fingers and a crowd of 2,000 people. Safia (band)
Safia is an Australian electronica, indie pop band formed in Canberra. They have released three studio albums. Career Safia won the Groovin' the Moo competition in 2012. The band says the name comes from a song they wrote called "Sapphire", but it does not mean anything. The band have since found out that ''safia'' means serenity in Arabic. When it comes to the band's influences, they claim to have a very broad range of styles and genres but list artists like Purity Ring, Major Lazer, Feed Me, Chet Faker, Disclosure and James Blake. In 2014, they were featured on Peking Duk's ARIA top 10 single, " Take Me Over". MacCabe Park
MacCabe Park is a small park located in Wollongong, New South Wales, Wollongong, Australia. It is commonly misspelt McCabe Park, though the sign has since been changed to its correct name. In 1855, a land grant was made to Governor Brown, the present site of the park. It contains a playground at the north east corner of the rectangular area covered by the park, the local youth centre is in the north west side, and a sculpture called "Nike" is found in this area amidst a garden area. The youth centre has a small skating area and sometimes ramps and kickers are brought out, with a small number of fastened ramps present. The centre's walls are covered with graffiti and murals. Dappled Cities (formerly "Dappled Cities Fly") are an indie rock band from Sydney, Australia. History 1997–2003 The band came together as teenagers in the northern suburbs of Sydney in 1997. Dave Rennick and original drummer Hugh Boyce were joined by Alex Moore on bass and Tim Derricourt on guitar. Keyboards were added occasionally by Mark Bradshaw, and after 2006 more regularly by Ned Cooke. The band started out playing at all-ages shows and charity benefits before they reached legal age to play in the licensed venues in the Sydney CBD. The Drones were an Australian rock music, rock band, formed in Perth by mainstay lead vocalist and guitarist Gareth Liddiard in 1997. Fiona Kitschin, his domestic partner, joined on bass guitar and vocals in 2002. Other long-term members include Rui Pereira on bass guitar and then guitar; Mike Noga on drums, vocals, harmonica and percussion; and Dan Luscombe on guitar, vocals and keyboards.
