Youp Van 't Hek
Joseph Jacobus Maria "Youp" van 't Hek (born 28 February 1954) is a Dutch, author, columnist, singer-songwriter, playwright, critic and former comedian. Biography Van 't Hek was born and raised in the Gooi, an upper-class region to the southeast of Amsterdam. In 1973 he changed his name from Joep to Youp. He was one of the founding members of Cabaret NAR (Cabaret Jester). In the early 1980s, Cabaret NAR's success declined and moved on as a solo artist. His big break came in 1983 on KRO's ''De alles is anders-show''. His energetic performance made him a household name overnight. In his 1989 " oudejaarsconference" (end-of-year show), he ridiculed Buckler, a low-alcohol beer brewed by Heineken. As a result sales plummeted and the brand was eventually withdrawn from the market. has often cited this as the best joke in his career and has subsequently referred to it in all his retrospective shows. Naarden () is a List of cities in the Netherlands by province, city and former List of municipalities of the Netherlands, municipality in the Gooi region in the Provinces of the Netherlands, province of North Holland, Netherlands. The conference has been broadcast on television since 1969. "Flappie" is a novelty song originally recorded by Dutch comedian Youp van 't Hek in 1978. The lyrics describe a boy who is angry with, and presumably kills, his father for cooking their family's pet rabbit on Christmas. Kayak (band)
Kayak is a Dutch rock band formed by Ton Scherpenzeel and Pim Koopman in Hilversum in 1972. In 1973, their debut album '' See See the Sun'' was released, including three hit singles. Their popularity was mainly in the Netherlands, with their top hit "Ruthless Queen" reaching No. 6 on the Dutch charts in March 1979. They disbanded in 1982 after releasing nine albums. Ton Scherpenzeel (born 6 August 1952) is a Dutch keyboardist, composer, lyricist, and founding member of Dutch progressive rock band Kayak. Subsequent to Kayak, Scherpenzeel joined British progressive rock band Camel (band), Camel. He also played for several years with Dutch band Earth and Fire and released several solo albums. After his participation in rock bands, he was associated with Dutch vocal project Opus and was the accompanying keyboardist to Dutch comedian Youp van 't Hek. Kayak Scherpenzeel is a founding member of Kayak, together with Pim Koopman and Max Werner whom he met while studying at the Hilversum Muziek Lyceum (Hilversum College of Music).
