You Ain't Heard Nothin' Yet
''You Ain't Heard Nothin' Yet'' is a tribute album to Al Jolson, (you can see an Al Jolson shadow in the album cover), recorded by American singer Eddie Fisher in 1968. It was his last RCA Victor album. Overview After " Now I Know" barely charted, (having just done well on the AC chart), Eddie Fisher started his last project, a tribute album to Al Jolson, Fisher's family and other people actually used to call Fisher "Sonnny Boy", a song of Jolson's. The album was released in 1968 and even before this album he showed his affection for Jolson with cuts like "Mame MAME (formerly an acronym of Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator) is a free and open-source emulator designed to emulate the hardware of arcade games, video game consoles, old computers and other systems in software on modern personal computers and ...". It was unsuccessful, didn't chart, didn't selland Fisher's recording career ended until his last album in 1984, named After All. Track listing References ...

You Made Me Love You (I Didn't Want To Do It)
"You Made Me Love You (I Didn't Want to Do It)" is a popular song from 1913 composed by James V. Monaco with lyrics by Joseph McCarthy. It was introduced by Al Jolson in the Broadway revue '' The Honeymoon Express'' (1913), and used in the 1973 revival of the musical '' Irene''. One of the earliest singers to record the song was Al Jolson. His rendition was recorded on June 4, 1913. It was released as Columbia A-1374 and was an international hit. In Britain, Columbia had to order 25,000 copies from the U.S. to satisfy unprecedented demand for a gramophone record. American performers working in West End shows, like Grace La Rue and Willie Solar, quickly recorded versions there to capitalize on the phenomenon. Another successful recording in 1913 was by William J. Halley. Al Jolson recorded the song again on March 20, 1946, released as Decca 23613. Jolson also performed the song for the soundtrack of the 1946 film '' The Jolson Story.'' In 1937, Roger Edens wrote additi ...

My Mammy
"My Mammy" is an American popular song with music by Walter Donaldson and lyrics by Joe Young and Sam M. Lewis. Though associated with Al Jolson, who performed the song very successfully, "My Mammy" was performed first in 1918 by William Frawley (later to become famous on ''I Love Lucy'') as a vaudeville act. Saul Bornstein, the general manager in early 1921 for Irving Berlin Music Publishing, brought the song to Jolson's attention; Jolson first interpolated the song in January 1921 to the Broadway show '' Sinbad'' which was in the fourth year of its run. Jolson recorded this song twice and performed it in films, including ''The Jazz Singer'' (1927) and ''Rose of Washington Square'' (1939). His voice can also be heard (dubbing actor Larry Parks) singing the song in ''The Jolson Story'' (1946). The group The Happenings revived the song in 1967 with a recording that reached #13 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100. Around that same time, Liza Minnelli began to incorporate the song in ...

Swanee (song)
"Swanee" is an American popular song from 1919 composed by George Gershwin, with lyrics written by Irving Caesar. It is most often associated with singer Al Jolson. The song was written for a New York City revue called ''Demi-Tasse'', which opened in October 1919 at the Capitol Theater. Caesar, who was then aged 24, claimed to have written the song in about ten minutes riding on a bus in Manhattan, finishing it at Gershwin's apartment. It was partly inspired by Stephen Foster's "Old Folks at Home", including that phrase in its lyrics. It was originally used as a big production number, with 60 chorus girls dancing with electric lights in their slippers on an otherwise darkened stage. Jolson versions The song had little impact in its first show, but not long afterwards Gershwin played it at a party where Al Jolson heard it. Jolson then put it into his show ''Sinbad'', already a success at the Winter Garden Theatre, and recorded it for Columbia Records in January 1920. "After t ...
