You're Under Arrest (Miles Davis Album)
''You're Under Arrest'' is a 1985 album recorded by Miles Davis, presenting a mixture of pop covers (including Cyndi Lauper's " Time After Time" and Michael Jackson's "Human Nature"), and original material dealing with politics, racism, pollution and war. It is the first Davis album since ''On the Corner'' in 1972 to include electric guitarist John McLaughlin. Background During the recording sessions, bass player Darryl Jones introduced Sting to Davis, who was an idol of his. Sting was startled when Davis asked if he spoke French; after he said yes, Davis asked him to translate the Miranda warning into French and yell it into the microphone against a backing track. Human Nature (Michael Jackson Song)
"Human Nature" is a song performed by American singer-songwriter Michael Jackson, and it is the fifth single from his sixth solo album, '' Thriller''. The track was produced by Quincy Jones and performed by some band members of Toto with Jackson providing vocals. It was originally written by keyboardist Steve Porcaro, based on a conversation he had with his young daughter Heather after a boy hit her at school, Porcaro said "he probably likes you and it's human nature". Porcaro, along with some Toto bandmates, had been assisting with the production of ''Thriller'', but he had not intended for "Human Nature" to be used by Jackson. However, Jones inadvertently heard a demo version of the track and thought it would be a great fit for the album. Jones then brought in songwriter John Bettis to rewrite the verses, whose lyrics are about a passerby in New York City. Rob Hyman
Robert Andrew Hyman (born April 24, 1950) is an American singer, songwriter, keyboard and accordion player, producer, and arranger, best known for being a founding member of the rock band the Hooters. Early life Hyman started taking piano lessons at the age of four and grew up playing in local bands in Meriden, Connecticut, including The Trolls and the Pro-Teens. While attending the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology, Hyman met future bandmate and composing partner Eric Bazilian and producer Rick Chertoff. In the late 1960s, Hyman and Chertoff, along with local singer David Kagan formed a band called Wax, who recorded an album in the early 1970s. Steven Maxwell Porcaro (born September 2, 1957) is an American keyboardist, songwriter, singer, and film music composer, known as one of the founding members of the rock band Toto and the last surviving Porcaro brother (after the deaths of Jeff in 1992 and Mike in 2015); as the songwriter of "Human Nature" by Michael Jackson and songs by Toto; and as the composer of the music for TV series '' Justified''. ''Aura'' is a concept album by Miles Davis, produced by Danish composer/trumpeter Palle Mikkelborg, released in 1989. All compositions and arrangements are by Mikkelborg, who created the suite in tribute when Davis received the Léonie Sonning Music Prize in December 1984, the year ''Decoy'' was released. This was Miles Davis's final album released in his lifetime. Background The main theme consists of 10 notes, yielded by the letters "M-I-L-E-S-D-A-V-I-S" (see BACH motif, and Schoenberg hexachord "EsCHBEG", and the chart at Musical notes#Accidentals).
