Yiman People
The Yiman, also known as Yeeman, Eoman or Jiman, and by themselves in modern times as Iman, are an Aboriginal Australian people living in the Dawson River (Queensland), Upper Dawson River region around Taroom, Queensland, Taroom of eastern Central Queensland. Language Almost nothing is known directly about Yiman language, Yiman, because the tribe was thought to have been wiped out before any words could be recorded. Society Yiman people persist as they have for tens of thousands of years. While little may be known to the general public about Yiman social structure, Yiman people survive and thrive. Their territory borders Wuli Wuli, Wadjigu, Garingbul, Gungabula, Mandandanji and Barunggam language regions. Yiman Language
The Yiman language (also spelt Yeeman, Yimun, Jimun, Yiiman, Jiman, Iman, and Emon) is an Australian Aboriginal language of Queensland. Ethnically the speakers were Bidjara; that and geography suggests that it may have been a Maric language, assuming it was a distinct language at all. It is attested in a word list collected by Meston and held in the State Library of Queensland, but as of 2014 the data had not been verified by the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies. Language revival Since 2017, the Central Queensland Language Centre has been working on helping to restore three languages from the region – Yiiman, Bayali (Byelle) and Taribelang. Zhang Yiman
Zhang Yiman (, born 15 January 1997) is a Chinese badminton player. She won her first World Tour title at the 2019 Vietnam Open. She also won a bronze medal at the 2021 World Championships in the women's singles category. In December 2024, Zhang announced her retirement from National team on social media. Career 2021 In 2021, Zhang participated in the 2021 BWF World Championships in the women's singles category. The unseeded Zhang defeated Hong Kong's Cheung Ngan Yi in the first round before receiving a walkover to the third round, where she defeated the sixteenth seed Kim Ga-eun of South Korea in straight games. Zhao Yiman
Zhao Yiman (; 1905 – 2 August 1936) was a female Chinese resistance fighter against the Imperial Japanese Army in Northeast China, which was under the occupation of the Japanese puppet state Manchukuo. She was captured in 1935 by Japanese forces and executed in 1936. She is considered a national hero in China, and an eponymous biopic was made for her in 1950. The 2005 film ''My Mother Zhao Yiman'' was based on her son's memory of her. Early life Zhao was born Li Kuntai (李坤泰) to a landlord family in Sichuan who had eight children. In 1913, she attended a private school and demonstrated outstanding academic achievements. During this time, she began her interest in politics through left-wing journals and newspapers and in 1924, with the help of her elder sister and brother-in-law, she joined the local communist youth movement.
