Young European Leadership (YEL), an international non-profit and Nonpartisanism, nonpartisan organization composed of and founded by young Europeans, aims to bring young professionals into European and global politics. Among its activities, YEL organizes the European Union's delegations to the G7 , Y7 and List of G20 summits , Y20 Summits, as well as youth-centered delegations to the annual Conference of the parties , UNFCCC conferences, the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women, UN CSW, and other events, including the Paris Peace Forum. European Council
The European Council (informally EUCO) is a collegiate body (directorial system) and a symbolic collective head of state, that defines the overall political direction and general priorities of the European Union (EU). Development Cooperation
Development aid (or development cooperation) is a type of aid given by governments and other agencies to support the economic, environmental, social, and political development of developing countries. Connie Hedegaard
Connie Hedegaard Koksbang (born 15 September 1960) is a Danish politician and public intellectual. She was European Commissioner for Climate Action in the ( second Barroso) European Commission from 10 February 2010 through 31 October 2014. On behalf of Denmark, Hedegaard hosted the UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen 2009. She was Danish Minister for Climate and Energy from 23 November 2007 as a member of the Cabinet of Anders Fogh Rasmussen III and that of Lars Løkke Rasmussen and had been the Danish Minister for the Environment from 2 August 2004 to 23 November 2007, as a member of the Cabinet of Anders Fogh Rasmussen I and II. European Commissioner For Climate Action
The Commissioner for Climate Action is a post in the European Commission. It was created in 2010, being split from the environmental portfolio to focus on fighting climate change. The European Union has made a number of moves in regard to climate change. Most notably it signed the Kyoto Protocol in 1998, set up its Emission Trading Scheme in 2005 and most recently agreed to unilaterally cut its greenhouse gas emissions by 20% by 2020. The current Commissioner for Climate Action is Wopke Hoekstra, who has succeeded the role after the resignation of Frans Timmermans.
