The Yantra ( bg, Янтра ) is a river in northern Bulgaria, a right tributary of the Danube. It is long (the third longest Bulgarian tributary of the Danube, after Iskar and Osam), and has a watershed of . Its average discharge at the mouth is . The Yantra has its source from the northern foot of Hadzhi Dimitar Peak in Central Stara Planina, at . In its upper course, it is alternatively known as ''Etar'' (Етър), its older name. The river flows into the Danube close to Svishtov. The river characteristically forms a number of gorges as it flows northward through the foothills of Stara Planina. The most prominent and longest one is , located close to the capital of the Second Bulgarian Empire Veliko Tarnovo. Yantra, Veliko Tarnovo Province
Yantra is a village in Northern Bulgaria. The village is located in Gorna Oryahovitsa Municipality, Veliko Tarnovo Province. Аccording to the 2020 Bulgarian census, Yantra has a population of 604 people with a permanent address registration in the settlement. Geography The majority of Yantra village's land area is covered by agricultural territories with 82%. 11% of the territories are urbanized areas, 3% water masses, and 2% forests. The main livelihood of the local population is animal husbandry, followed by agricultural activities. The elevation in the village varies between 50 and 99 meters with an average of 59 meters. FC Yantra ( bg, ФК Янтра) is a Bulgarian football club based in Gabrovo, which plays in Second League, the second tier of Bulgarian football. Yantra () (literally "machine, contraption") is a geometrical diagram, mainly from the Tantric traditions of the Indian religions. Yantras are used for the worship of deities in temples or at home; as an aid in meditation; used for the benefits given by their supposed occult powers based on Hindu astrology and tantric texts. They are also used for adornment of temple floors, due mainly to their aesthetic and symmetric qualities. Specific yantras are traditionally associated with specific deities and/or certain types of energies used for accomplishment of certain tasks, vows, that may be materialistic or spiritual in nature.
