Yamaha V8 Engine
The B8444S is an automobile V8 engine manufactured by Yamaha Motor Company for Volvo Cars. It was built in Japan and based on Volvo designs. Usage Volvo began offering a V8 engine in its large P2 platform automobiles in 2005. It was initially offered only for the Volvo XC90 but later found its way in the second generation Volvo S80, and was mated to a six speed Aisin Seiki AWTF80-SC transmission of Japan also with a Swedish Haldex all-wheel drive (AWD) system. The 4.4 L V8 Volvo engine was built by Yamaha in Japan under Volvo design and specifications. Volvo XC90
The Volvo XC90 is a Executive car, mid-size luxury SUV manufactured and marketed by Volvo Cars since 2002 and now in its second generation. The first generation was introduced at the North American International Auto Show#2002, 2002 North American International Auto Show and used the Volvo P2 platform shared with the first generation Volvo S80 and other large Volvo cars. It was manufactured at Volvo's Torslandaverken in Sweden. Volvo moved production equipment of the first generation to China and ended Swedish production at the end of 2014, renaming the car as the Volvo XC Classic (or Volvo XC90 Classic). AWTF-80 SC
The Aisin AW TF-8# SC series is a 6-speed automatic transmission designed for use in transverse engine applications produced by Aisin Seiki. It is built in Anjō, Japan, and is also called TF-80SC (AWF21), AF40-6, AM6, AW6A-EL and TF-81SC (AF21). All-wheel drive transfer cases can be fitted to the AWTF-80 SC. It uses a Lepelletier gear mechanism, an epicyclic/planetary gearset, which can provide more gear ratios with significantly fewer components. This means the Aisin AW TF-8# SC series is actually lighter than its five-speed predecessors. The Ford 6R, GM 6L, and ZF 6HP transmissions are based on the same globally patented gearset concept. Volvo S60
The Volvo S60 is a compact executive car manufactured and marketed by Volvo since 2000. The first generation (2000–2009) was launched in autumn of 2000 in order to replace the S70 and was based on the P2 platform, and the similarly designed estate version, the Volvo V70. A high-performance engine and sports-oriented suspension version called S60 R was launched at the Paris Motor Show in 2002. Styling cues were taken from the ECC concept car and the S80. The Volvo Engine Architecture (VEA) is a family of straight-three and straight-four automobile petrol and diesel engines produced by Volvo Cars in Skövde, Sweden, since 2013, Zhangjiakou, China, since 2016 and Tanjung Malim, Malaysia, since 2022 by Proton. Volvo markets all engines under the ''Drive–E'' designation, while Geely groups the three-cylinder variants with its other engines under the ''G-power'' name. Sand casting, also known as sand molded casting, is a metal casting process characterized by using sand—known as ''casting sand''—as the mold material. The term "sand casting" can also refer to an object produced via the sand casting process. Sand castings are produced in specialized factories called foundries. In 2003, over 60% of all metal castings were produced via sand casting. Molds made of sand are relatively cheap, and sufficiently refractory even for steel foundry use.
