YTV Jr
YTV Jr. (formerly known as The Treehouse) was a block on YTV for preschoolers that was launched in 1994 and aired weekdays until 2002. History When YTV launched, it had a block of programs for preschoolers with a focus on Canadian content. In 1991, YTV began airing host segments during the block featuring their PJs (Program Jockeys) and the Grogs (replaced by The Fuzzpaws in 1994). In 1994, YTV's preschool block received the name The Treehouse. While most of YTV's hosted blocks had one or two hosts, The Treehouse was hosted by one or two of three PJs, Katie, Krista, and/or Todd, and one of The Fuzzpaws. YTV (Canadian TV Channel)
YTV (stylized as УTV) is a Television in Canada, Canadian English language Discretionary service, discretionary specialty channel owned by YTV Canada, Inc. a subsidiary of Corus Entertainment. The channel and its programming is targeted at children and young teenagers. Its name was originally thought to be an abbreviation for "Youth Television", though the channel's website has denied this. The channel was launched on September 1, 1988 by owners Rogers Media and CUC Broadcasting upon launch. ''The Waterville Gang'' is a Canadian children's television series, which aired on CTV Television Network from 1972 to 1974. Using puppetry, the series centred on a group of marine animals living at or under the sea, including Dodger Dolphin, Angel Fish, Sharky Shark, Eloise "Frenchie" the Seahorse, Sergeant Perch, Pearl Van Oyster, Tucker Turtle and Ace Seagull. The show's voice cast included Billy Van, Len Carlson, Franz Russell, Julie Amato, Sid Brown and Donna Miller. ''Under the Umbrella Tree'' is a Canadian children's television series created by Noreen Young that originally aired on CBC from 1987 to 1993. It was produced by CBC and Noreen Young Productions, and later by The Disney Channel, which began airing it on May 7, 1990. The series centers on a quartet of main characters who share a house on Spring Street in a suburb of Ottawa, Ontario. The characters include Holly (a human), Iggy (an iguana), Jacob (a blue jay), and Gloria (a gopher). The show's title is derived from the fact that the characters live together in a home featuring a prominent indoor umbrella tree. Sky Dancers
Sky Dancers are a line of toys that were popular in the mid-1990s and were the basis for an animated series. The toys consisted of a pull-string base and a doll with foam wings. When the doll was inserted into the base and the string was pulled, it would launch into the air and spin its wings like a propeller as it flew, similar to a helicopter. Toys Galoob launched the toys during the 1994 winter holiday season, and were greatly successful. Galoob later released a similar toyline aimed at boys, ''Dragon Flyz''. The toys were re-released in 2005 with an adapted design, manufactured by Play Along Toys. Written by and starring the Lumby family, characters included Miss Helen (played by Helen Lumby), Oliver (John Lumby Jr.), Grandma Gussie (Lisa Lumby-Richards), Stampede (Jeff Lumby), and Friend Record, a giant record who plays the spoons. Rupert Bear is an English children's comic strip character and franchise created by Herbert Tourtel and illustrated by his wife, the artist Mary Tourtel, first appearing in the ''Daily Express'' newspaper on 8 November 1920. Rupert's initial purpose was to win sales from the rival ''Daily Mail'' and ''Daily Mirror''. ''Puttnam's Prairie Emporium'' was a half-hour Canadian children's television series which aired for two seasons, from 1988 to 1990, on CTV before being syndicated on YTV. The series was created and produced by Bruce Edwards, and a total of 51 episodes were taped at CKCK-TV in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, beginning in 1988. The series was centered on the titular emporium, a long-standing general store run by eccentric owner Mr. Puttnam (George Alexander), whose daughter Ellen (Coral Crum) and grandchildren Katy (Brandie Mickleborough) and Mark (Jeremy Drummond) have moved in with him. The Poddington Peas
''The Poddington Peas'' is a British animated television series that was created by Paul Needs and Colin Wyatt of Cairnvale Productions for Poddington PLC; it has thirteen five-minute episodes, and was aired on BBC One as part of the Children's BBC strand (as it had been known from its inception on 9 September 1985 until 4 October 1997) from 14 September to 22 December 1989. The series was regularly repeated throughout the 90s and early 00s until 2002. The series' theme song, composed by Geoff Stephens, describes the eponymous group of Peas living "down at the bottom of the garden".
