Yonaka
Yonaka (stylised as YONAKA) are an English rock band based in Brighton. The group consists of Theresa Jarvis on vocals, George Edwards on guitar, and Alex Crosby on bass and keyboards. Yonaka released their debut album, ''Don't Wait 'Til Tomorrow'', on 31 May 2019. History First EPs and ''Don't Wait 'Til Tomorrow'' (2014–19) Yonaka performed on the BBC Introducing stage at Radio 1's Big Weekend 2016 and released their debut EP, ''Heavy'', the following year. 2018 saw the group issue two further EPs, ''Teach Me to Fight'' and ''Creature''. The title track from ''Creature'' reached the top spot of the Kerrang! Rock Chart in December 2018. Radio 1's Big Weekend
BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend (R1BW) (previously known as One Big Weekend, for 2012 as Radio 1's Hackney Weekend, and for 2018 as BBC Music's Biggest Weekend) is a British music festival run by BBC Radio 1. It is held once a year, in a different location within the United Kingdom each time. It was the biggest free-ticketed music event in Europe, until a fee for tickets was introduced in 2018, and always includes a host of new artists. Background and history The festival is a spin-off of Radio 1's "One Big Sunday", where in each Sunday during the summer months a different town would host the roadshow, usually next to a beach or in a large park. These were also free, but non-ticketed and held from 2000 to 2002. Palaye Royale
Palaye Royale is an American rock band from Las Vegas, formed in 2008 by brothers Remington Leith, Sebastian Danzig, and Emerson Barrett. Formed under the name Kropp Circle, the band released one EP and two singles before changing their name to Palaye Royale in 2011. Under this name, they have released five full length albums and four EPs through Sumerian Records. History 2008–2010: Kropp Circle and early years The band's principal members are brothers Sebastian Danzig, Remington Leith and Emerson Barrett. The 2019 edition of the ''Kerrang!'' Awards, a ceremony recognising achievements in rock music over the preceding twelve months, took place on June 19, 2019.''Kerrang!'', issue 1774, 25 May 2019, page 8. Awards, the winners for the major categories were determined by fan votes from a shortlist of nominees, itself determined by a period of open fan nominee submissions. Brighton
Brighton ( ) is a seaside resort in the city status in the United Kingdom, city of Brighton and Hove, East Sussex, England, south of London. The Official Vinyl Albums Chart is a weekly record chart in the United Kingdom. It is compiled by the Official Charts Company (OCC) on behalf of the music industry. It lists the top 40 most popular albums in the vinyl format each week. The chart, along with the corresponding Official Vinyl Singles Chart, was launched on 6 April 2015 to coincide with Record Store Day, and was introduced in response to the major rise in popularity of vinyl records, both songs and albums; 2014 saw 1.3 million vinyl albums sold in the UK for the first time since 1995. Republic Records is an American record label owned by Universal Music Group (UMG). Based in New York City, it was founded by Avery Lipman and Monte Lipman as an independent label in 1995, and was acquired by UMG in 2000. The LP (from long playing or long play) is an Analog recording, analog sound storage medium, specifically a phonograph record format characterized by: a speed of revolutions per minute, rpm; a 12- or 10-inch (30- or 25-cm) diameter; use of the "microgroove" groove specification; and a vinyl (a copolymer of vinyl chloride acetate) composition disk. Ultratop is an organization which generates and publishes the official record charts in Belgium. Ultratop is a non-profit organization, created in 1995 on the initiative of the Belgian Entertainment Association (BEA), the Belgian member organization of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry. Two parallel sets of charts are concurrently produced and published; one is on behalf of Belgium's mainly Dutch-speaking Flanders region, and the other catering to the nation's mainly French-speaking region of Wallonia.
