Always (Big Bang Album)
''Always'' is the first Korean EP by South Korean boy band Big Bang, released under YG Entertainment on August 16, 2007. Commercially, the album recorded pre-orders of 30,000 copies and sold over 55,000 copies by the end of October 2007. Legacy ''Always'' (2007) marked a change of BigBang's musical styles from their previous efforts, with the group experimenting with electronic dance music and setting it as the new music trend in Korea. It was also the first release in Korean's music industry to be promoted as a "mini-album". The lead single " Lies" (), composed by G-Dragon, was a no.1 hit, topping Cyworld charts for two months in a row, eventually becoming their break-out hit and Song of the Year in the 2007 Mnet Asian Music Awards. "Lies" was named the "Song of the Decade" by Mnet's M! Countdown. On 2016, it was labeled the "Top Male Idol Song in The Best 20 Years" by music experts. 2NE1 (, ) is a South Korean girl group formed by YG Entertainment in 2009. The group consists of Park Bom, Bom, CL (rapper), CL, Sandara Park, Dara, and Minzy. Known for their Experimental music, musical experimentation, fashion, and stage presence, they are a leading figure of the Korean Wave and among the most influential K-pop girl groups of all time. They are recognized for expanding girl group styles in the Korean music industry, which in turn broke stereotypes of K-pop. ''2NE1'' (also known as ''2NE1 1st Mini Album'') is the self-titled debut extended play (EP) by South Korean girl group 2NE1, released by YG Entertainment on July 8, 2009. The seven-track record, composed and produced by South Korean producers Teddy Park and Kush, showcases a blend of pop, dance, R&B, and hip-hop styles. The EP experienced immediate commercial success in South Korea, becoming the best-selling album by a female artist and the third best-selling album overall in 2009. It was also released in several other Asian territories, including Thailand, the Philippines, and Japan. The Japanese edition, distributed by Avex's Rhythm Zone, was made available on March 16, 2011. YMGA (band)
Woo Jin-won (, October 25, 1978), better known by his stage name Masta Wu (), is a South Korean rapper, songwriter and producer. His previous stage name was Ginnwon. He was also a part of the hip hop project duo YMGA. Career After being an underground rapper, Woo signed with YG Entertainment. He released his first album, ''Masta Peace'' in 2003, and his second album ''Brand Wu Year'' in 2007. In 2014, he was one of the producers of the talent show '' Show Me The Money 3''. Uhm Jung-hwa (; born August 17, 1969) is a South Korean singer, actress and dancer. Uhm is considered to be one of the most influential women in the Korean entertainment industry, finding success in both music and film. Her legacy and career reinventions have given her the nickname of "Korean Madonna". Uhm began her career in 1989 as a chorus member for the broadcasting company MBC. She starred in the romantic drama film ''On a Windy Day, We Must Go to Apgujeong'' (1993) and released her debut studio album ''Sorrowful Secret'' that same year. ''Hot'' is the debut extended play (EP) by South Korean singer Taeyang, a member of boy group Big Bang under YG Entertainment. It was released through YG Entertainment on May 22, 2008, as Taeyang's debut as a solo artist. Two singles were spawned from the EP—"Only Look at Me" featuring Teddy Park and "Prayer". It was the best-selling album of May 2008 with it being ranked at number 1 on the MIAK monthly album chart.
