Xu Xin (table Tennis)
Xu Xin (; born 8 January 1990) is a Chinese professional table tennis player. He first reached his career-high singles ranking of world No. 1 by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) in January 2013. He is Vice Chairman of the Asian Table Tennis Federation. He has won 17 World Tour Singles titles and has won the World Championships in men's doubles thrice, mixed doubles twice, and five times in the team event. In addition, Xu Xin along with Ma Long and Zhang Jike won the Table tennis at the 2016 Summer Olympics – Men's team, men's team gold medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Playing style and equipment Xu Xin is one of the few Table tennis styles, penhold grip players in China, especially among the younger generation who are mostly shakehand players. 2014 World Team Table Tennis Championships
The 2014 World Team Table Tennis Championships were held in Tokyo from 28 April to 5 May 2014. The Championships was staged in Japan for the seventh time and was the 52nd edition of the team competition. The decision was announced by ITTF in May 2011, after several sporting events including the 2011 World Figure Skating Championships were shifted from Japan due to the Tōhoku earthquake and the following Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster. Seeding The first division (Championship Division) comprised 24 teams. The top eighteen teams of the first division and the top two teams of the second division at the 2012 World Team Championships were guaranteed a place in the competition. 2009 World Table Tennis Championships
The 2009 H.I.S. World Table Tennis Championships were held in Yokohama, Japan, from 28 April to 5 May 2009. The Chinese team dominated the competition, following their sweep of the gold medals in table tennis at the 2008 Summer Olympics. It was the tenth (and third consecutive) world table tennis championships at which China won all five available titles. Fourth-ranked Timo Boll of Germany, a challenger for the men's singles title, was forced to withdraw from the tournament due to a back injury. After Boll's withdrawal, players from China held the top four seedings in both the men's and women's singles competitions.
