Wrestling was one of the sports which was held at the 1970 Asian Games in Bangkok, Thailand between 10 and 13 December 1970. The competition included only men's freestyle events. Iran topped the medals table, with six golds, followed by Japan with 4 gold medals. India also won a gold medal. Chandgi Ram
Chandgi Ram Kaliraman (9 November 1937 – 29 June 2010), often referred to as Master Chandgi Ram, was a freestyle wrestler from India. He won gold medal in the 1970 Asian Games and represented India in the 1972 Summer Olympics. Along with amateur wrestling, he was very active in the traditional Indian wrestling, where he had won all major titles, including Hind Kesari, ''Bharat Kesari'', ''Bharat Bhim'', ''Rustom-e-Hind'' and ''Maha Bharat Kesari''. He is remembered for the work that he has done for the introduction, acceptance and popularisation of the women's wrestling in India. Some of his trainees went on to become prominent women's wrestling coaches of the country. In 1969, Government of India (GoI) conferred the Arjuna Award on him for his achievements in the tradition wrestling. Netra (''Norddeutsche Erdgas Transversale'') is a long natural gas pipeline system in Germany, which runs from the Dornum natural gas receiving facility at the coast of North Sea to Salzwedel in eastern Germany, where it is connected with the JAGAL pipeline. The pipeline is extended to Berlin through the Salzwedel–Berlin connection. Construction of the Netra pipeline was agreed in 1994 and the pipeline was commissioned in 1995. Originally it run from the Etzel gas storage facility to Salzwedel. In 1999, after commissioning the Europipe II pipeline, the NETRA pipeline system is extended from Etzel to Dornum. The compressor station near Wardenburg was built in 2003. Mukhtiar Singh
Captain Mukhtiar Singh (25 October 1943 – 19 November 2019), popularly known as Mukhiya, was an Indian wrestler. He was the first one to grab two gold medals for India in Commonwealth Games and also he won a bronze medal in the 1970 Asian Games. He served Indian Army for 26 years and retired as Hon.
