This is the list of world records progression in women's weightlifting. Records are maintained in each weight class for the snatch lift, clean and jerk lift, and the total for both lifts. Olympic Weightlifting
Weightlifting (often known as Olympic weightlifting) is a competitive strength athletics, strength sport in which athletes compete in lifting a barbell loaded with weight plates from the ground to overhead, with the aim of successfully lifting the heaviest weights. Athletes compete in two specific ways of lifting the barbell overhead. The ''Snatch (weightlifting), snatch'' is a wide-grip lift, in which the weighted barbell is lifted overhead in one motion. The ''clean and jerk'' is a combination lift, in which the weight is first taken from the ground to the front of the shoulders (the ''clean''), and then from the shoulders to over the head (the ''jerk''). The sport formerly included a third lift/event known as clean and press. Each weightlifter gets three attempts at both the snatch and the clean and jerk, with the snatch attempted first. Mirabai Chanu (born 9 August 1994) is an Indian Olympic weightlifting, weightlifter. She won the silver medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics, 2020 Tokyo Olympics in the Weightlifting at the 2020 Summer Olympics – Women's 49 kg, Women's 49 kg event. Chayuttra Pramongkhol formerly Sirivimon Pramongkhol (; born 29 November 1994) is a Thai weightlifter. She competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the Women's 48 kg, finishing in 4th place. The 2020 Asian Weightlifting Championships were held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from 16 to 25 April 2021. The 2019 Ready Steady Tokyo Weightlifting Test Event was a weightlifting tournament, consisting of a series of test matches. It was held in Tokyo, Japan, from July 6 to 7, 2019.
