Women's Generation (Single)
Women's Generation () is the debut project single by South Korean girl groups SeeYa, Davichi, and T-ara, released on May 6, 2009.The single's musical style focuses on themes of women's empowerment. Although T-ara is officially credited on all tracks, only Park Ji-yeon, Ji-yeon participated in the singing and performances. Following the success of ''Women's Generation'', a second special project single, Wonder Woman (T-ara song), Wonder Woman, was released a year later, featuring SeeYa, Davichi, and T-ara members Hyomin and Hahm Eun-jung, Eun-jung. Background and release On April 21, MBK Entertainment, Core Contents Media announced that Davichi and Seeya would release a special project single. Seeya
SeeYa (Hangul: 씨야) was a South Korean girl group originally made up of Kim Yeon-ji, Lee Bo-ram, and Nam Gyu-ri. When the group debuted in 2006, they were marketed as the female version of SG Wannabe. SeeYa were known for their 2007 hit song "Love's Greetings", and won Best Female Group at the Mnet Asian Music Awards that same year. In 2009, Nam Gyu-ri left the group to pursue a solo career and Lee Soo-mi replaced her for only one year. The group later remained as a duo with Kim Yeon-ji and Lee Bo-ram prior to disbandment in 2011. ''Music Bank'' () is a South Korean music program which airs every Friday at 17:15 KST on KBS2. the show is also broadcast in more than a hundred countries through KBS World. Episodes are filmed at the KBS New Wing Open Hall in Yeouido-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu. The show also organizes the global live concert '' Music Bank World Tour''. History Prior to ''Music Bank'', ''Top 10 Songs'' (가요톱10) debuted in 1981 airing live at 6:30 (KST) on Fridays and aired until 1998. For the first few months of 1998, ''Bravo New Generation'' took its place, but due to low ratings, it was quickly replaced by ''Music Bank'' on June 18, 1998.
