''Wisecrack'' is an independent folk-pop album by Canadian singer-songwriter Haley Blais, released on 15 September 2023 by Arts & Crafts. Blais began writing songs for the album in early 2020 and completed recording in the summer of 2022. Blais released several singles and music videos in the lead-up to the album. ''Wisecrack'' was inspired by 1990s and early 2000s indie music and touches on themes of nostalgia, childhood, family and morality. The album has received generally positive reviews, with critics stating that the album shows Blais's growth as a musician, and praising it for its lyrics and production, as well as Blais's vocals. Background and recording Blais released her debut album, '' Below the Salt'', in August 2020. Blais said that she produced the album without thinking about its "cohesive ess. Wisecrack, Inc. was an American production company operated by Jacob Salamon, Jared Bauer, Greg Edwards, Drew Levin, and Todd Mendeloff. The company was founded in 2014 and produced various web series and podcasts such as '' Thug Notes'', ''Earthling Cinema'', and ''8-Bit Philosophy''. The group focused on an analysis of anime, film, literature, and video games drawing out philosophy, sociology, psychology and other meanings that can be interpreted from media. Wisecrack was purchased by Blue Ant Media in August 2019. On April 16, 2025, Wisecrack announced that it was shutting down and no new videos would be produced. Protectors (comics)
''The Protectors'' is a 20-issue comic book series published by Malibu Comics from 1992 until 1994. Originally meant to be a six-issue series, response was positive enough that Malibu decided to make the series ongoing. The series was cancelled (along with the rest of the "Genesis" titles) so that, according to Malibu, they could focus more on the "Ultraverse" line. Many of the characters included in the series were taken from heroes created by Centaur Publications, and had fallen into the public domain and revamped by writer R. A. Jones. Some heroes were given new names, such as Gravestone (formerly Fantom of the Fair, Fantom or Fantoman), Nightmask (Masked Marvel), Thresher (a.k.a. Shark), and Midnight Blue (formerly Blue Lady). In the case of Gravestone, the name was changed to avoid confusion with Lee Falk's Phantom (although there were a few instances when the hero was referred to as "Fantom" within the pages of the first few issues).
