The Wisconsin–Platteville Pioneers football program is the intercollegiate American football team for the University of Wisconsin–Platteville located in Platteville, Wisconsin. 2024 NCAA Division III Football Season
The 2024 NCAA Division III football season was the component of the 2024 college football season organized by the NCAA at the Division III level in the United States. The regular season began on September 1 and ended on November 16. This was the 51st season that the NCAA has sponsored a Division III championship. Cortland is the defending national champion. The playoffs were expanded from 32 from last season to 40 teams. The season's playoffs was played between November 23 and January 5, 2025, culminating in the national championship—also known as the Stagg Bowl. The game was initially set for Turner Stadium in Humble, Texas, but was later moved to Shell Energy Stadium in Houston. Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference
The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) is a college athletic conference affiliated with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division II level, which operates in the Upper Midwest of the United States. Nine of its members are in Minnesota, with three members in South Dakota, two members in North Dakota, and one member in Nebraska. It was founded in 1932. With the recent NSIC expansion, the original six member schools have been reunited. The conference sponsors 18 sports; ten for women and eight for men. Both men and women compete in basketball, cross country, golf, and indoor and outdoor track and field. Men compete in baseball, football, and wrestling. The Isthmus Bowl is an annual NCAA Division III post-season college football bowl game sponsored by Culver's and established in 2021 by the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) and the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW). Both conferences are eligible for postseason play and each of the 18 football-playing institutions is eligible to participate in the Isthmus Bowl.
