Windows (Jon Lord Album)
''Windows'' is a live album by Jon Lord and the German conductor and composer Eberhard Schoener. The music and the record are primarily credited to Lord. It was taped at a concert in Munich, (West) Germany on 1 June 1974 and the music is a mix between progressive rock and orchestral late romantic/modernist styles. The piece on the first side, "Continuo on B-A-C-H" is a loose attempt to build on the unfinished triple fugue that closed Johann Sebastian Bach's "Art of the Fugue". The second side of the LP is a three-part composition called "Window". In the liner notes of the LP album Lord makes a comparison between the rhapsodic structure here and the renga tradition of chain composition of poetry in medieval Japan. The music of the middle section was lifted from Lord's earlier crossover effort '' Gemini Suite'' (1971). Ray Fenwick, Tony Ashton, David Coverdale, Glenn Hughes and Lord himself perform as soloists along with the Munich Chamber Opera Orchestra conducted by Schoener. ...

Windows (song)
"Windows" is a song by the English pop group Take That. It was released by EMI Records on 22 September 2023 as the first single from their ninth studio album, '' This Life'' (2023). It was written by Take That, and produced by Grammy-winner Dave Cobb with Gary Barlow on lead vocals. Background The song was recorded in RCA Studio A in Nashville, Tennessee. Critical reception ''Smooth Radio'' labelled the song "gorgeous". ''The Independent'' noted "the track dials into the family-friendly Seventies soft rock of bands like America with its casual electric guitars and falsetto yearnings". Music video The music video was directed by Ben Tricklebank and is based on the idea that the band are like three caged birds. They are longing to escape but individually aren't certain if they can still fly. Only once they are together are they able to take flight again. Tricklebank stated: "Universal sent out a really interesting brief that was centered around a technique of connecting moments ...

Vinyl Confessions
''Vinyl Confessions'' is the eighth studio album by American rock band Kansas, released in 1982 (see 1982 in music). It includes "Play the Game Tonight", which broke the Top 20 and is Kansas's third highest-charting single, surpassed only by " Carry on Wayward Son" and " Dust in the Wind". The album was reissued in remastered format on CD in 1996 on Legacy/Epic and again in 2011. Background ''Vinyl Confessions'' was a major turning point for the band. After the conversion of both guitarist/keyboard player Kerry Livgren and bass player Dave Hope to Christianity, and the focus that Livgren placed on his religion in the band's lyrics, lead singer Steve Walsh did not agree with the new direction of the band and left to form his own band, Streets. Walsh had also contributed much as a songwriter, so the band was forced to find a new lead singer who not only had a vocal style that fit the band's music, but also could contribute material for the upcoming album. After a long auditi ...

Window
A window is an opening in a wall, door, roof, or vehicle that allows the exchange of light and may also allow the passage of sound and sometimes air. Modern windows are usually glazed or covered in some other transparent or translucent material, a sash set in a frame in the opening; the sash and frame are also referred to as a window. In addition to this, many modern day windows may have a window screen or mesh, often made of aluminum or fibreglass, to keep bugs out when the window is opened. Types include the eyebrow window, fixed windows, hexagonal windows, single-hung, and double-hung sash windows, horizontal sliding sash windows, casement windows, awning windows, hopper windows, tilt, and slide windows (often door-sized), tilt and turn windows, transom windo ...
