''Wind on the Water'' is the second album by Crosby & Nash, released on ABC Records in 1975. Cassette tape, Cassette and 8-track tape versions of the album were distributed by Atlantic Records, to which Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young were signed. It peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard 200, ''Billboard'' 200 album chart and was certified Music recording sales certification, gold by the RIAA. Three singles were released from the album, "Carry Me", "Take the Money and Run", and "Love Work Out", of which only the first charted, peaking at No. 52 on the Billboard Hot 100, ''Billboard'' Hot 100 singles chart. Leland Sklar
Leland Bruce Sklar (born May 28, 1947) is an American bassist and session musician. He rose to prominence as a member of James Taylor's backing band, which coalesced into a group in its own right, The Section, which supported so many of Asylum Records' artists that they became known as Asylum's ''de facto'' house band, as those artists became iconic singer-songwriters of the 1970s. Sklar has recorded and toured with artists including James Taylor, Jackson Browne, Carole King, Linda Ronstadt, Phil Collins, Toto, The Doors and Lyle Lovett. As a group member, session player, or touring musician, Sklar has appeared on over 2,000 albums, and contributed to many motion picture and television show soundtracks. Daniel Kortchmar (born April 6, 1946), also known as Danny Kootch, is an American guitarist, session musician, producer and songwriter. His work with singer-songwriters such as Linda Ronstadt, James Taylor, David Crosby, Carole King, David Cassidy, Graham Nash, Neil Young, Steve Perry, and Carly Simon helped define the signature sound of the singer-songwriter era of the 1970s. Jackson Browne and Don Henley have recorded many songs written or co-written by Kortchmar, and Kortchmar was Henley's songwriting and producing partner in the 1980s. Craig Doerge (; born December 4, 1944) is an American keyboard player, session musician, songwriter, and record producer, best known for his keyboard work with Crosby Stills and Nash, James Taylor, and Jackson Browne. Biography He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, United States. The Section (band)
The Section was a United States instrumental rock/jazz fusion band formed in the early 1970s by guitarist Danny Kortchmar, keyboardist Craig Doerge, bassist Leland Sklar, and drummer Russ Kunkel. Other musicians associated with the group include multi-instrumentalist David Lindley and guitarist Waddy Wachtel. They are best known for both studio and stage work in support of some of the best selling singer-songwriters and solo singers of that decade. Their frequent appearances on the records of artists signed to Asylum Records made them the label's ''de facto'' house band. ''Another Stoney Evening'' is the sixth album by the duo of David Crosby and Graham Nash, issued in 1998 on Grateful Dead Records, catalog GDCD 4057. It had been recorded at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles, California more than 26 years prior to its release. Background After the tour of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young that ended in July 1970, the quartet broke up amidst some tension. All four members then pursued solo careers, each releasing an album within the next year. Nash and Crosby had developed a symbiotic musical relationship and so decided to undertake a tour as a duo during the autumn of 1971. They opted to go out without any backing band, playing theaters in what would later be termed an "unplugged" format. ''Stills'' is a 1975 studio album by American musician Stephen Stills. It is his third solo album and his first release on Columbia Records. The album was a commercial success on release, charting at number 19 on the US album charts, but was released to mixed critical reaction. Background Stills began recording a solo album in 1973 under the tentative title ''As I Come of Age'', and it was "almost completed" by February 1974. He may have recorded more in early 1974, but from May to December Stills was busy with a reunited Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. Crazy Horse (band)
Crazy Horse is an American rock band best known for their association with the musician Neil Young. Since 1969, fifteen studio albums and eight live albums have been billed as being by Neil Young and Crazy Horse. They have also released six studio albums of their own between 1971 and 2009. Billy Talbot (bass) and Ralph Molina (drums) have been the only consistent members of the band across its fifty-five years.
