Willie James Young Jr. (born September 19, 1985) is an American former professional football defensive end and linebacker. He was selected by the Detroit Lions in the seventh round of the 2010 NFL draft. He played college football at NC State. Early life Young was born on September 19, 1985, in Riviera Beach, Florida. He attended Palm Beach Gardens Community High School, where he played basketball and football as a defensive lineman and ran track. As a junior in 2003, he recorded 60 tackles including 15 for loss and nine quarterback sacks. Defensive end (DE) is a defensive position in the sport of gridiron football. This position has designated the players at each end of the defensive line, but changes in formation (American football), formations over the years have substantially changed how the position is played. Redshirt, in United States college athletics, is a delay or suspension of an athlete's participation in order to lengthen their period of eligibility. Avery Young (born November 12, 1992) is an American professional football offensive tackle who is a free agent. He played college football at Auburn, and was signed by the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent in 2016. He is also the younger brother of former defensive end Willie Young. In gridiron football, a sack occurs when the quarterback (or another offensive player acting as a passer) is tackle (football move), tackled behind the line of scrimmage before throwing a forward pass, when the quarterback is tackled behind the line of scrimmage in the "passing pocket, pocket" and without clear intent, or when a passer runs out of bounds behind the line of scrimmage due to defensive pressure.
