Willie White (born August 20, 1962) is an American former National Basketball Association (NBA) player. After graduating from Carver High in Memphis, White attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC). In his freshman season, he averaged 11.8 points per game. UTC also won the Southern Conference championship and made their first NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament appearance. In Willie's sophomore season at UTC, he averaged 15.8 points per game, leading UTC to a second consecutive Southern Conference championship. Willie averaged 18.4 points per game his junior season, also leading UTC to a third straight Southern Conference championship. This was good enough for Willie to be named the Southern Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Year. Willye Brown White (December 31, 1939 – February 6, 2007) was an American track and field athlete who took part in five Olympics from 1956 to 1972. She was America's best female long jumper of the time and also competed in the 100 meters sprint. White was a Tennessee State University Tigerbelle under Coach Ed Temple. She was African-American. Athletic career White was a 16-year-old sophomore in high school when she won a silver medal in the long jump in the 1956 games in Melbourne, Australia. It marked the first time an American woman ever won a medal in that event. She won her second silver medal in 1964 as a member of the 400-meter relay team, along with Wyomia Tyus, Marilyn White and Edith McGuire. Will White
William Henry "Whoop-La" White (October 11, 1854 – August 31, 1911) was an American baseball pitcher and manager from 1875 to 1889. He played all or parts of 10 seasons in Major League Baseball, primarily for the Cincinnati Reds in the National League (1878–1879) and the Cincinnati Red Stockings in the American Association (1882–1886). He had three 40-win, and one 40-loss, seasons in Cincinnati. During the 1882 and 1883 seasons, he led the American Association in wins, compiling an 83–34 win–loss record and a 1.84 earned run average (ERA). Over the course of 10 major league seasons, White compiled a 229–166 record with a 2.28 ERA. His career ERA ranks ninth on the all-time list of Major League Baseball career ERA leaders. White also set a number of major league pitching records and still holds several.
