William Patrick (born 20th century) is an American editor, book doctor, ghostwriter, and writer. He is the co-author of ''Loneliness: Human Nature and the Need for Social Connection''. He has also written two suspense novels. Career Patrick began his career at Little, Brown and Company, then moved to Harvard University Press, where he acquired and edited works by writers including Edward O. Wilson and Jane Goodall. While working at Harvard, he wrote ''Spirals'' ( Houghton), a novel set in Cambridge, Massachusetts, during the early days of cloning and recombinant DNA research. William Patrick (minister)
The Reverend William Patrick (1791–1872) was a 19th-century minister of the Church of Scotland and a significant contributor to the ''Second, or New, Statistical Account of Scotland''. He seems to have been the prime author of the Parish accounts for Hamilton, Blantyre, Bothwell and Cambuslang. In each of these, his interest in the local flora and fauna, especially those that could be hunted, shines through. He had earlier (1831) produced ''A popular description of the indigenous plants of Lanarkshire''. William Penn Patrick
William Penn Patrick (March 31, 1930 – June 9, 1973) was an American entrepreneur, businessman, and fraudster. He was the owner of Holiday Magic, Leadership Dynamics, and Mind Dynamics. Patrick was a proponent of the sour grapes philosophy, and has been widely quoted as stating: "Those who condemn wealth are those who have none and see no chance of getting it." Patrick tried unsuccessfully to enter politics, first running against Ronald Reagan for the Republican nomination for governor of California, and was later nominated by the California Theocratic Party for Vice President of the United States. Patrick was a member of the John Birch Society. In 1972 an F-86 Sabre jet, owned by Patrick, crashed into an ice cream parlor in Sacramento, killing 22 people on the ground. William Patrick (Canadian Politician)
William Patrick (February 21, 1810 – August 6, 1883) was a clergyman, merchant and political figure in Canada West. He represented Grenville County and later Grenville South in the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Canada from 1854 to 1863. He was born in Scarborough, Upper Canada, the son of Asa Patrick, a Scottish immigrant, and Belinda Gilbert, and was educated by the Reverend John Strachan. A Methodist, he studied at the Cazenovia Seminary in New York and was ordained a minister in 1833. Patrick married Abigail Ann, the daughter of George Brouse, in 1835. Problems with his voice led him to leave the ministry and he opened a store in Kemptville in 1836. Patrick moved to Prescott in 1839. He was an agent for the Provincial Mutual and General Insurance Company and a director of the Ottawa and Prescott Railway.
