''Will You Visit Me on Sunday'' is a 1970 country music studio album released by George Jones. The album contains seven tracks written by Dallas Frazier, one written by his wife, Tammy Wynette, and others. Gusto Records acquired the Musicor Records catalog and has re-issued some of George Jones' long out of print albums onto CD. This album was re-issued as "Image of Me" on CD in 2014. It contains the same tracks as the original album, but in a different order. Background and critical reception Although Jones practically owned the country charts throughout the decade, by the end of the 1960s he had become dissatisfied with sound of his records. Jones had recorded over 280 sides with Musicor in six years, which were haphazardly released and repackaged on a number of increasingly erratic sounding albums. George Glenn Jones (September 12, 1931 – April 26, 2013) was an American country musician, singer, and songwriter. He achieved international fame for his long list of hit records, including his best-known song " He Stopped Loving Her Today", as well as his distinctive voice and phrasing. De Armand Alexander "Eddie" Noack, Jr. (April 29, 1930 – February 5, 1978), was an American country music, country and western singer, songwriter and music industry executive. He is best known for his 1968 recording of the controversial murder ballad, "Psycho", written by Leon Payne, produced by John Capps and issued on the K-ark Records label. Early life and career Noack was born in Houston, Texas, United States, and attended Baylor University, where he earned a bachelor of arts degree in English and journalism. Noack decided on a career in music after winning a talent contest in 1947. Wayne Kemp (June 11, 1940 – March 9, 2015) was an American country music singer-songwriter. He recorded between 1964 and 1986 for JAB Records, Decca, MCA, United Artists, Mercury and Door Knob Records, and charted twenty-four singles on the Hot Country Songs charts. His highest-peaking single was "Honky Tonk Wine", which peaked at No. 17 in 1973. The song is included on his second studio album, ''Kentucky Sunshine'', which reached No. 25 on Top Country Albums. "All I Have to Offer You (Is Me)" is a song written by Dallas Frazier and A.L. "Doodle" Owens, and recorded by American country music artist Charley Pride. It was released in June 1969 as the first single from his compilation album '' The Best of Charley Pride''. The song, released that June, reached the top of the ''Billboard magazine'' Hot Country Singles chart that August, and in doing so it was Charley Pride's first No. 1 song. It also accomplished a feat not done in 25 years: an African American entertainer having a No. 1 hit on the ''Billboard'' country chart. Dave Marsh (born March 1, 1950) is an American music critic, and radio talk show host. He was an early editor of '' Creem'' magazine, has written for various publications such as ''Newsday'', '' The Village Voice'', and '' Rolling Stone'', and has published numerous books about music and musicians, mostly focused on rock music.
