Whitecaps FC 2 is a professional association football, soccer team based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada that serves as the reserve team of the Vancouver Whitecaps FC of Major League Soccer. History Prior to the MLS Next Pro iteration the team played its home games at University of British Columbia, UBC's Thunderbird Stadium and competed in the USL Championship, United Soccer League. On November 17, 2017, the Whitecaps announced they were disbanding WFC2 and entering an affiliation agreement with USL expansion team Fresno FC. On December 6, 2021, the Vancouver Whitecaps FC were named as one of 21 clubs that would field a team in the new MLS Next Pro league beginning in the 2022 season. The team moved to Swangard Stadium and would continue to play under the Whitecaps FC 2 name, with a rebrand scheduled for 2023. They retained the name and logo for the 2023 season. Lucas Daniel Cavallini (born December 28, 1992) is a Canadian professional soccer player who plays as a forward for Liga MX club Puebla and the Canada national team. Marco Antonio Bustos (born April 22, 1996) is a Canadian professional soccer player who plays as a winger for Canadian Premier League club Pacific FC. Early life He began playing soccer at age four with the Garden City CC. Bustos played for FC Northwest in his native Winnipeg for four years before joining the Vancouver Whitecaps's academy in 2011. Myer Stefan Major Bevan (born 23 April 1997) is a New Zealand professional footballer who plays as a forward for Northern League club Auckland City and the New Zealand national team. Kyle Greig (born February 22, 1990) is an American soccer player who plays as a forward. Career Greig played four years of college soccer at Benedictine College between 2008 and 2011. He also played for USL PDL club Kansas City Brass between 2010 and 2012. Greig signed his first professional contract with USL Pro club Wilmington Hammerheads in April 2013.
