Whirlwind (Lainey Wilson Album)
''Whirlwind'' is the fifth studio album by American country singer Lainey Wilson. It was released on August 23, 2024, by BBR Music Group. The lead single from the album is " Hang Tight Honey". A deluxe re-issue of the album will be released on August 22, 2025. Background Wilson co-wrote all 14 of the tracks on ''Whirlwind''. Due to her busy schedule, Wilson said she focused on "quality over quantity" with respect to writing songs for ''Whirlwind'', a different approach compared to her past projects. She wrote several songs with The Heart Wranglers, a songwriting collective consisting of herself, Trannie Anderson, and Dallas Wilson, as well as new collaborators such as Jon Decious. The album features a collaboration with Miranda Lambert on "Good Horses", which the two co-wrote with Luke Dick at Lambert's farm in May 2023, and previewed it with a joint performance in Las Vegas ahead of its release. Lainey Denay Wilson (born May 19, 1992) is an American country music, country singer-songwriter. She performed at an early age, before going to Nashville, Tennessee, Nashville to pursue a career as a country performer. In 2014, she released her first album on Cupit, followed by a second on Lone Chief in 2016. Wilson secured a publishing deal and later released an extended play (EP) in 2019 which included the song "Things a Man Oughta Know". Pedal Steel
The pedal steel guitar is a console steel guitar with pedals and knee levers that change the pitch of certain strings, enabling more varied and complex music to be played than with other steel guitar designs. Like all steel guitars, it can play unlimited glissandi (sliding notes) and deep vibrati—characteristics it shares with the human voice. Pedal steel is most commonly associated with country music and Hawaiian music. Pedals were added to a lap steel guitar in 1940, allowing the performer to play a major scale without moving the bar and also to push the pedals while striking a chord, making passing notes slur or bend up into harmony with existing notes. The toy piano, also known as the ( in German), is a small piano-like musical instrument. Most modern toy pianos use round metal rods, as opposed to strings in a regular piano, to produce sound. Rhodes Piano
The Rhodes piano (also known as the Fender Rhodes piano) is an electric piano invented by Harold Rhodes, which became popular in the 1970s. Like a conventional piano, the Rhodes generates sound with keys and hammers, but instead of strings, the hammers strike thin metal tines, which vibrate next to an electromagnetic pickup. The signal is then sent through a cable to an external keyboard amplifier and speaker. Dobro () is an American brand of resonator guitars owned by Gibson and manufactured by its subsidiary Epiphone. The term "dobro" is also used as a generic term for any wood-bodied, single-cone resonator guitar. The Dobro was originally a guitar manufacturing company founded by the Dopyera brothers as the Dobro Manufacturing Company. Their guitar design, with a single outward-facing resonator cone, was introduced to compete with the patented inward-facing tricone and biscuit designs produced by the National String Instrument Corporation. A twelve-string guitar (or 12-string guitar) is a steel-string guitar with 12 strings in six courses, which produces a thicker, more ringing tone than a standard six-string guitar. Typically, the strings of the lower four courses are tuned in octaves, with those of the upper two courses tuned in unison. The gap between the strings within each dual-string course is narrow, and the strings of each course are fretted and plucked as a single unit. The neck is wider, to accommodate the extra strings, and is similar to the width of a classical guitar neck. The cuÃca () is a Brazil, Brazilian friction drum with a large pitch range, produced by changing tension on the head of the drum. ''CuÃca'' is Portuguese for the gray four-eyed opossum (''Philander opossum'') which is known for its high-pitched cry.
