Where I'm Meant To Be
''Where I'm Meant to Be'' is the second studio album by the London jazz quintet Ezra Collective, released on 4 November 2022 by Partisan Records. The album was produced by the band and Riccardo Damian, and features musicians including Sampa the Great, Kojey Radical, Emeli Sandé, and Nao, as well as the filmmaker Steve McQueen. The album received a positive reception from critics. It won the Mercury Prize in 2023 and was nominated for Best Jazz Record at the 2023 Libera Awards. It debuted at number one on the UK's Jazz & Blues chart, spending six non-consecutive weeks at the top spot. Ezra Collective
Ezra Collective are a British jazz quintet composed of drummer and bandleader Femi Koleoso, bassist TJ Koleoso, keyboardist Joe Armon-Jones, trumpeter Ife Ogunjobi, and tenor saxophonist James Mollison, who met at the jazz youth programme Tomorrow's Warriors and formed their group soon afterwards. The group fuses elements of afrobeat, Calypso music, calypso, reggae, Hip hop music, hip-hop, Soul music, soul and jazz, and frequently collaborates with fellow London-based jazz musicians such as Nubya Garcia and Moses Boyd. They were the recipients of the 2023 Mercury Music Prize. Their 2024 single "God Gave Me Feet for Dancing" was chosen by Barack Obama for his list of 25 favourite songs of the year. Thelonious Sphere Monk ( October 10, 1917 – February 17, 1982) was an American Jazz piano, jazz pianist and composer. Metacritic is an American website that aggregates reviews of films, television shows, music albums, video games, and formerly books.
