"Where Are We Going" is a song by Remy Shand, released on 17 May 2013 on Remy Records. It is the first single released by the musician since 2002's single "Rocksteady". Background "Where Are We Going?" was composed by Edward Larry Gordon and Larry Mizell. According to an article by ''The Globe and Mail'' dated June 3, 2013. Shand had covered Marvin Gaye's "Where Are We Going". The song was actually recorded in the past by Donald Byrd. Shand played all the instruments on the song and did all of the vocal backing. Shand did the mixing as well at Hollywood Dan's Sound Lair. Other versions Donald Byrd recorded the song and it appeared on his ''Black Byrd'' album that was released on Blue Note BN-LA047-F in 1973. Funk, Inc. recorded a version of the song which was included on their 1974 '' Priced to Sell'' album. Remy Shand (born 1978) is a Canadian R&B/soul singer best known for his hit single to date, " Take a Message", released in late 2001. Early life Shand was born to parents Doug and Lana Shand. Career Shand became a fan of artists such as Stevie Wonder, The Isley Brothers, Marvin Gaye, Steely Dan and Earth, Wind & Fire. During 1998 he began to write and record songs independently. The album was released in in Shand's native Canada, UK & Europe via Universal Records and on in the United States via Motown Records. Three singles were released from the album: " Take a Message", "The Way I Feel", and "Rocksteady". "Take a Message" was the only song from the album to chart on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100, peaking at #89. Shand wrote and produced all of the album's tracks.
