Welcome To Atlanta
"Welcome to Atlanta" is a song by American rapper Jermaine Dupri featuring Ludacris. It was released in 2001 as the second single from Dupri's 2001 album '' Instructions'', and appeared as a hidden track on Ludacris' second album, '' Word of Mouf''. The song praises Dupri and Ludacris' hometown of Atlanta, Georgia. It interpolates "Five Minutes of Funk" by Whodini and samples " Do It Baby" by The Miracles. Dupri released an official remix of the song, "Welcome to Atlanta (Coast 2 Coast Remix)", which features, in addition to Dupri and Ludacris, three rappers from other American cities extolling their own hometowns: P. Jermaine Dupri
Jermaine Dupri Mauldin (born September 23, 1972) is an American rapper and record producer. Raised in Atlanta, Georgia as the son of Columbia Records executive Michael Mauldin, he began his career in music at the age of nine. He discovered the teen hip-hop duo Kris Kross in 1991. Dupri wrote and produced their 1992 single " Jump," which peaked atop the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and was named the 23rd most successful song of that decade. He established his own record label, So So Def Recordings, in a joint venture with Columbia the following year. Shad Gregory Moss (born March 9, 1987), better known by his stage name Bow Wow (formerly Lil' Bow Wow), is an American Rapping, rapper and actor. The Miracles
The Miracles (later known as Smokey Robinson and the Miracles from 1965 to 1972) were an American vocal group formed in Detroit, Michigan in 1955. "Do It Baby" is a 1974 single recorded and released by the Motown R&B group The Miracles. The song was taken from the album of the same name, and written by Motown staff songwriters Freddie Perren and Christine Yarian and produced by Perren. Background "Do It Baby" marked the soul quintet's first top forty hit over a year and a half after the departure of the group's most important member, former leader Smokey Robinson and the inclusion of Billy Griffin, who took over Robinson's lead position in 1973. The song's production also was a far departure from the group's earliest sounds as they embraced a funkier production style.
