Weiting Station
Weiting Station () is the Eastern terminus of Suzhou Rail Transit Line 3 and western terminus of Line 11. The station is located in Suzhou Industrial Park, Jiangsu. It has been in use since December 25, 2019; when Line 3 first opened to the public. On June 24, 2023, when Line 11 started operation, the station acts as the Western terminus of the line and transfer station of the two lines. Suzhou Industrial Park
The China–Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park (), or Suzhou Industrial Park for short, abbreviated as SIP, is a county-level administrative area located in Suzhou, Jiangsu, China. The industrial park was established in February 1994, as part of the reform and opening up campaign in the 1990s, and is unique in its joint governance by Chinese and Singaporean officials. While the park struggled at first, and attracted international notoriety following a very publicized falling out between the two sides, it quickly began making a profit due to highly desirable real estate and the presence of many large global corporations, and remains an economic engine for the city. Suzhou (; ; Suzhounese: ''sou¹ tseu¹'' , Mandarin: ), alternately romanized as Soochow, is a major city in southern Jiangsu province, East China. Jiangsu
Jiangsu (; ; pinyin: Jiāngsū, alternatively romanized as Kiangsu or Chiangsu) is an eastern coastal province of the People's Republic of China. Island Platform
An island platform (also center platform, centre platform) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Island platforms are popular on twin-track routes due to pragmatic and cost reasons. They are also useful within larger stations where local and express services for the same direction of travel can be provided from opposite sides of the same platform thereby simplifying transfers between the two tracks. An alternative arrangement is to position side platforms on either side of the tracks. The historical use of island platforms depends greatly upon the location. Line 3 (Suzhou Rail Transit)
Line 3 is an east-west line of Suzhou Rail Transit. The line is 45.272 kilometers long. The line links the Wuzhong District, Suzhou Industrial Park, and the Suzhou New District. Line 3 started trial operations from December 6 to December 10, 2019. Official operation started on December 25, 2019. Line 11 (Suzhou Rail Transit)
Line 11 is a rapid transit line of the Suzhou Rail Transit system. It was formerly known as Line S1 during planning and construction. Construction started on November 27, 2018. It opened on 24 June 2023. The line uses 6-car Type B rolling stock operating up to 100 km/h. Description Running west-east, the line mainly serves the urban area of Kunshan, and connects it to Suzhou Industrial Park in the west and nearby Shanghai in the east via a transfer at Huaqiao station to Line 11 of Shanghai Metro.
