Weightlifting At The 2022 Pacific Mini Games
Weightlifting is one of the sports contested at the 2022 Pacific Mini Games, to be held in Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands. The competition is scheduled to take place between 20 and 23 June 2022, spread across twenty weight classes (ten per gender). The event was also designated the 2022 Oceania Senior Weightlifting Championships. Saipan
Saipan ( ch, Sa’ipan, cal, Seipél, formerly in es, Saipán, and in ja, 彩帆島, Saipan-tō) is the largest island of the Northern Mariana Islands, a commonwealth of the United States in the western Pacific Ocean. Uaealesi Funaki (born 1998) is a Tongan New Zealander weightlifter who has represented New Zealand at the Junior World Weightlifting Championships and Tonga at the Pacific Mini Games. Funake was born in the Auckland suburb of Ōtāhuhu and grew up in Māngere. He was educated at Southern Cross College. He began weightlifting at age 15 to improve his rugby performance, and later represented New Zealand at the 2015 Junior World Weightlifting Championships in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, winning silver in the under 85 kg class. Matahi is a rural valley in the Whakatāne District and Bay of Plenty Region of New Zealand's North Island. History and culture 20th century Rua Kenana Hepetipa, a Māori prophet, faith healer and land rights activist, established the settlement in 1910. He had established the settlement of Maungapohatu three years earlier. For several years, Rua lived between Matahi, with his youngest wife Te Atawhai Tara or Piimia, and Maungapohatu, with his first wife Pinepine Te Rika. From 1912, Matahi went through a period of growth, while Maungapohatu went through decline. Rua spent an increasing amount of time in Matahi, and was there when he died in 1937.
