The wedding of Constantine II, King of the Hellenes, and Princess Anne-Marie of Denmark took place on Friday, 18 September 1964, at the Metropolitan Cathedral of Athens. Constantine II was the reigning Greek monarch, while Princess Anne-Marie was the youngest daughter of King Frederik IX and Queen Ingrid of Denmark. It was the second, and to date, the last wedding of a reigning Greek monarch, and the first to be held in Greece. Chrysostomos II, Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, presided over the Church of Greece ceremony. Jørgen Bender (9 May 1938 – 10 September 1999) was a Danish fashion designer best known for his work for the Danish, Swedish and Norwegian royal families. Life Bender, born in Copenhagen on 9 May 1938, had wanted to be a designer since the age of 14. He apprenticed with the Danish famed designer Holger Blom, and after Blom's death in 1965, took over his atelier. In the 1960s, after Blom's death, Queen Ingrid became a client. Holger Blom (12 August 1905 – 19 March 1965) was a Danish fashion designer. He is best known for his film and theatre costumes and his creations for the Danish royal family. Biography Blom was born on 12 August 1905 in Skanderborg, Denmark. He was born into a wealthy manufacturing family. He was the son of manufacturer Christian Blom (1866-1929) and his wife, Julie Blom (1878-1921). He was educated at Odense Cathedral School in Odense and studied German at the University of Copenhagen. He began to sew dresses for ladies in Copenhagen during his studies. The Hotel Grande Bretagne () is a luxury hotel in Athens, Greece. It is located on Syntagma Square, on the corner of Vasileos Georgiou A' and Panepistimiou Streets. It is owned presently by Lampsa Hellenic Hotels. History The original structure was built during 1842 as a house for Antonis Dimitriou, a wealthy Greek businessman from the island of Lemnos, twelve years after independence of Greece from the Ottoman Empire. In 1874, it was bought by Efstathios Lampsas, who restored it with an 800,000 drachma loan and named it "Grande Bretagne." By 1888, the hotel had electricity installed. In November 1930, a new wing on Panepistimiou Street was inaugurated, and in 1950, another wing on Voukourestiou Street. His Danish Majesty's Yacht ''Dannebrog'' (A540) () was launched by Alexandrine of Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Queen Alexandrine at Copenhagen in 1931, and commissioned on 26 May 1932. The yacht now serves as the official and private residence for King Frederik X, and members of the Danish royal family, Royal Family when they are on official visits overseas and on summer cruises in Danish waters.
