We – Voice From The People
The We – Voice from the People ( sr-Cyrl-Latn, Ми — Глас из народа, Mi — Glas iz naroda, abbrev. MI–GIN) is a populist political organisation in Serbia. Until the 2024 split, the main representative of MI–GIN was Branimir Nestorović, a prominent pulmonologist and conspiracy theorist. MI–GIN gained national representation in the National Assembly of Serbia and City Assembly of Belgrade following the 2023 Serbian parliamentary election and 2023 Belgrade City Assembly election. History Background and formation In the 2022 Serbian parliamentary election, Branimir Nestorović supported the Dveri– POKS list, which helped this list in attracting votes. After the election, Nestorović said that he was dissatisfied with the Dveri list, and that Serbia "deserves a national, non-partisan, honest and decent option. Branimir Nestorović ( sr-cyrl, Бранимир Несторовић; born 16 December 1954) is a Serbian politician, pulmonologist, conspiracy theorist, and retired university professor serving as the member of the National Assembly (Serbia), National Assembly since 6 February 2024. He is one of the representatives of the We–The Voice from the People organisation and was elected to the National Assembly (Serbia), National Assembly and the 2023 Belgrade City Assembly election, Belgrade City Assembly in 2023 Serbian parliamentary election, 2023. In his career, he was also a paediatrician, allergist, and a professor emeritus of the University of Belgrade Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade. The We – Power of the People (, abbr. MI–SN) is a political movement and parliamentary group in Serbia led by Branimir Nestorović, pulmonologist, publicist and conspiracy theorist. The MI–SN parliamentary group consists of 6 deputies elected in 2023 Serbian parliamentary election, 2023 on the We – Voice from the People list. History The We – Power of the People movement was created after the faction led by Branimir Nestorović left the We – Voice from the People movement. The main reasons for leaving are the refusal of the collective leadership of the movement to declare Nestorović the president and the conflict between the two founders Dragan Stanojević and Aleksandar Pavić at the meeting in Pančevo. 2024 Belgrade City Assembly Election
Local elections were held in Belgrade on 2 June 2024 amidst reports of irregularities during the 2023 City Assembly election. The election was called after the constitutive session of the City Assembly of Belgrade failed to meet quorum after the 2023 elections. Background Protests Shortly after the closing of the voting stations, SNS held a press conference at which Vučić reported that SNS placed first in the election, winning 38 percent of the popular vote. The election resulted in a hung parliament, with Nestorović's MI–GIN being the party that could choose whether to side with the ruling coalition of SNS and SPS or the opposition of SPN and NADA. Nestorović said that "even though no one gave us a chance, we became one of the four or five strongest parties"; he rejected cooperating with either one of the blocs after the elections. Aleksandar Jerković (; born 1972) is a Serbian politician who has been a member of the National Assembly (Serbia), National Assembly since 18 October 2022. A close associate of Božidar Delić, he succeeded Delić as the leader of the There's no Going Back – Serbia Is Behind (NN–IJS) political organization. Aleksandar Vučić – Serbia Must Not Stop (, AV–SNSDS), commonly shortened to just Serbia Must Not Stop, is a parliamentary group in the National Assembly of Serbia, led by the Serbian Progressive Party. The Movement for the Restoration of the Kingdom of Serbia (, abbr. POKS) is a monarchist and National conservatism, national-conservative List of political parties in Serbia, political party in Serbia. It was founded in 2017 after a split within the Serbian Renewal Movement (SPO). In December 2021, the POKS split into two rival groups, respectively led by party founder Žika Gojković and former Mayor of Belgrade, Belgrade mayor Vojislav Mihailović. Dveri
The Serbian Movement Dveri (), commonly just known as Dveri (), is a nationalist and right-wing populist political party in Serbia. Its current president since 2024 is Ivan Kostić, who succeeded Boško Obradović, one of the co-founders of the party. Formed as a youth-orientated political organisation in 1999, it published an eponymous student magazine that promoted clerical and nationalist content. Through the 2000s, it operated as a non-governmental organisation that campaigned in favour of Christian right views, that included opposition to abortion and opposition to gay rights. Dveri took part in the 2012 elections where it failed to obtain any seats in the National Assembly, although in the 2016 elections it entered the National Assembly in a joint list with the Democratic Party of Serbia, obtaining 13 seats in total, 7 of which belonged to Dveri. 2022 Serbian Parliamentary Election
