We've Sobered Up
''We've Sobered Up'' is the debut studio album by South Korean indie rock band Say Sue Me. The album was released on 2 October 2014 through Damnably. In 2017, Damnably released a compilation album ''Say Sue Me'', which added a few singles to this album. Background ''Say Sue Me'' was formed in 2012, and the album was recorded at their studio near Gwangalli Beach. They explained about the album, "Everyone really loved American indie new music in the '90s, so we added surf music on top of that." Say Sue Me
Say Sue Me () is an indie rock band from Busan, South Korea, currently consisting of members Sumi Choi, Byungkyu Kim, Sungwan Lim, and Jaeyoung Kim. The group formed in 2012 and has released three full-length albums: '' We've Sobered Up'' (2014), '' Where We Were Together'' (2018) and '' The Last Thing Left'' (2022); and four extended plays: ''Big Summer Night'' (2015), ''Semin'' (2017), ''It's Just a Short Walk!'' (2018), and ''Christmas, It's Not a Biggie'' (2018). Say Sue Me won Best Modern Rock Album and Best Modern Rock Song at the 2019 Korean Music Awards. Biography Childhood friends Byungkyu (guitar), Jaeyoung Ha (bass), and Semin (drums) met Sumi (vocals) at a tea shop in the Nampo-dong neighborhood of Busan in 2012. The three liked Sumi's speaking voice and immediately offered her a spot as the vocalist in their new band that would become Say Sue Me. Damnably
Damnably is an independent record label based in Stratford, East London. It was founded by George Gargan and Janice Li. Primarily created to promote a John Peel night at The Brixton Windmill in 2006, Damnably then undertook tour booking and evolved into a record label. It has since grown, adding a roster of artists from all around the world including USA, Canada, Japan, Korea, China, Indonesia, France and the UK. History The label was founded in 2006 by George Gargan, of the band Former Utopia. He was later joined by filmmaker Janice Li. Together, the label was formed on a shoestring budget, incorporating a DIY approach which still remains an integral part of their ethos today. ''Where We Were Together'' is the second studio album by South Korean indie rock band Say Sue Me. The album was released on 13 April 2018 through Damnably. Background Following the release of his first album ''We've Sobered Up'', Say Sue Me signed with the British label Damnably. They supported a tour of Otoboke Beaver. The band's drummer Kang Semin had to leave the band due to a serious injury, and new drummer Kim Changwon joined the band. Gwangalli Beach
The Gwangalli Beach () or Gwangan Beach is a beach in Gwangan 2(i)-dong, Suyeong District, Busan, South Korea. It is west of Haeundae Beach. It sits inside a cove spanned by the Gwangan Bridge and covers 82,000 square meters over a length of 1.4 km and a width of 25 to 110 metres, in a curved in a half-moon shape with fine sand. Adjacent are alleys with restaurants, coffee shops and nightclubs. Because of its popularity, city officials are pushing for improving water quality around the beaches. The beach is near the Busan Yachting Center used for the sailing events of the 1988 Summer Olympics.
