The Beautiful Girls are an Australian roots music group founded in Sydney in 2001 by Mat McHugh, Clay MacDonald, and Mitchell Connelly. They have released three extended plays, '' Morning Sun'' (2002), '' Goodtimes'' (2002), and '' The Weight of the World'' (2004), plus five studio albums, '' Learn Yourself'' (2003), '' We're Already Gone'' (2005), ''Ziggurats'' (2007), '' Spooks'' (2010), and '' Dancehall Days'' (2014). The last four albums have all peaked into the top 20 on the ARIA Albums Chart. ''Spooks'' and ''Dancehall Days'' also debuted at No. 1 on the Australian Independent Chart and No. 7&5 on the American ''Billboard '' Reggae Albums Chart, respectively. Ian Mussington (born May 30, 1967) is a musician, session drummer and percussionist. He was the former drummer for the Minneapolis band Soul Asylum from 1998 to 2001. Soul Asylum
Soul Asylum is an American rock band formed in 1981 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Their 1993 hit " Runaway Train" won the Grammy Award for Best Rock Song. The band was originally called Loud Fast Rules, with a lineup consisting of Dave Pirner, Dan Murphy, Karl Mueller, and Pat Morley. They changed their name to Soul Asylum in 1983. Morley was replaced by Grant Young in 1984. The band recorded three albums with Twin/Tone Records and two with A&M Records, with little commercial success. Mason Jennings
Mason Jennings is an American folk-pop singer-songwriter. Biography Born in Hawaii, Jennings moved with his family to Pittsburgh at an early age. Jennings learned to play guitar at the age of 13, when he began writing songs. Jennings later dropped out of school and moved to Minneapolis to pursue his musical career. Jennings produced his self-titled debut album in 1997 on an analog four-track in the living room of a rented home, playing all instruments himself. Triple J
Triple J is an Australian government-funded national radio station founded in 1975 as a division of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC). It aims to appeal to young listeners of alternative music, and plays far more Australian content than commercial networks. The station was set up under the Gough Whitlam government, wanting to extend the appeal of the ABC to young Australians. Initially broadcasting as 2JJ or Double Jay from 19 January 1975, it stood apart from commercial stations with its lack of private advertising and its fringe music programming. Music Australia was a free national online service hosted by the National Library of Australia, launched on 14 March 2005, covering all types, styles, and genres of Australian music. It was integrated into Trove in 2012. ABT is the call sign of a television station operated by the publicly-owned Australian Broadcasting Corporation, with a transmission area covering southern Tasmania. ABT began broadcasting on VHF channel 2 on 4 June 1960, with studios in inner-city Hobart and transmitter at Mount Wellington.
