Walter Von Wistinghausen
Walter Siegfried Nikolai von Wistinghausen (stage name Willibald Wickel, June 19, 1879 – February 26, 1956) was an Estonian–German actor, journalist, translator, and writer. Early life and education Walter von Wistinghausen came from the Baltic noble family , which had been based in Tallinn since the mid-17th century. Walter von Wistinghausen was born at Tsitre Manor in Estonia, the son of the chamberlain and medical doctor (1826–1883) and his second wife, Adelheid Anna Nicolette Theophile Gräfin von Stenbock (1849–1922). The family lived in Tallinn until the father's death in 1883. From 1883 to 1885 they lived in Kolga, and in 1885 the mother and her four children moved to Tartu. Walter von Wistinghausen attended () in Tartu from 1886 to 1890 and received private lessons from 1890 to 1892. Estonian Knighthood
The Estonian Knighthood (, ) was a medieval fiefdom, as well as a corporation of its nobility, that was organised and operated in what is now northern Estonia from the 13th to early 20th century. It was formally disbanded by the newly independent Republic of Estonia in 1920. The earliest written records of the Knighthood are known from 1252, its origins thus dating back to the time of Danish rule over the northern Estonian provinces of Revala, Vironia and Harria. The Estonian Film Database (, abbreviated EFIS) is an electronic film database launched online in 2012. Its purpose is to thoroughly describe Estonian film heritage, to collect film information about Estonian films, their producers, content, themes, types and genres, directors, actors, and so on, and to make available as much information as possible related to these films and the Estonian film industry. The descriptions of the films are detailed with keywords, which makes it possible to search for information based on various content. The database was made public on December 12, 2012. As of the beginning of 2017, the database contained more than 16,200 full and partial records of films made in Estonia since 1912. The film database was mainly developed in stages between 2011 and 2022 following a specific plan. August Mälk
August Mälk (4 October 1900 – 19 December 1987) was an Estonian writer and politician. Life August Mälk was born on , in Lümanda Parish in the village of Koovi (then named Kipi-Koovi), located on the west coast of the island of Saaremaa, in modern-day Estonia (then part of the Governorate of Livonia in the Russian Empire). He attended the University of Tartu from 1923 to 1925 and then returned to Saaremaa to work as a teacher. He began his literary career while headmaster of the elementary school in Lümanda, publishing his first novel, ''Kesaliblik'' in 1926. Mälk married Pauline Triipan in 1933. The couple had one daughter. In 1935, Mälk achieved great success with his novel ''Õitsev Meri'' (The Flowering Sea), depicting life in a fishing village. It was the first volume of a trilogy that also included ''Taeva Palge All'' (Under the Face of Heaven) and ''Hea Sadam'' (The Good Port).
