Walsall F.C. Youth And Reserves
Walsall Football Club in England are represented at Reserve and Youth team level by the Walsall Development Squad and Walsall Academy. The Development Squad currently compete in the Central League North-West Division and the academy team compete in the Youth Alliance North-West Division. Both teams play the majority of their home games at the Birmingham County FA Headquarters at Ray Hall Lane in Perry Barr, although some games are played at the senior side's Bescot Stadium home. The Development Squad is currently managed by Miguel Llera and the academy side by Kyle Kirby. The make up of both sides is usually very similar, with Walsall's Academy side joining more experienced first team players on the fringes of the matchday squad and those who are returning from injury, in the majority of Development Squad fixtures. Julian Bennett (footballer)
Julian Llewelyn Bennett (born 17 December 1984) is an English retired footballer, who played as a defender, having spent his career at Walsall, Nottingham Forest, Sheffield Wednesday before finishing his career at Southend United. Career Youth and Walsall Bennett was a youth player at Nottingham Forest's Centre of Excellence but left when he was 14 years old to play for local teams in the Nottingham area. However, he soon joined Walsall as a YTS player He progressed through the youth and reserve sides at Walsall and made his Walsall debut on 28 February 2004, where he came on as a substitute for Matt Carbon in the 70th minute, in a 1–0 loss against Wigan Athletic., which turns out to be only appearance of the 2003–04 season. Allan John Clarke (born 31 July 1946), nicknamed "Sniffer", is an English former professional footballer who played in the Football League for Walsall, Fulham, Leicester City, Leeds United and Barnsley, and won 19 international caps for England. Career Early career Clarke was born in Short Heath, Willenhall, Staffordshire. He is the third of seven children. Clarke joined Walsall in 1961 as an apprentice, playing his debut for the Saddlers in October 1963, against Reading. Whilst at the club he scored 46 goals in 82 appearances. Walsall Senior Cup
The Walsall and District Football Association Senior Cup is an English football competition for clubs in and around Walsall, with the final in modern times taking place at Walsall's Bescot Stadium. The Cup was founded in 1878 and was originally named the ''Licensed Victuallers Cup'' with nine sides competing. Walsall Swifts won the inaugural competition. The current holders are Rushall Olympic.
