Walk On Water (Jerry Harrison Album)
''Walk on Water'' is the third album by the American musician Jerry Harrison. It was released in 1990 by Sire Records in the U.S. and Fontana Records in the UK and Europe. For the second album in a row, Harrison's backing musicians were dubbed the Casual Gods. Harrison supported the album by touring with the Ramones, Debbie Harry, and Tom Tom Club. Production Alannah Currie and Tom Bailey, of Thompson Twins, contributed to the album. "I Cry for Iran" is about the Iran–Iraq War. "Cowboy's Got to Go" was influenced by Jackson Pollock. Critical reception The ''Calgary Herald'' wrote that "even arrison's'fun' tunes reek of academic calculation." Alannah Currie
Alannah Joy Currie (born 20 September 1957) is a New Zealand artist based in London. She is a musician and activist, best known as a former member of the pop band Thompson Twins. Career Born in New Zealand and trained as a journalist, Currie emigrated to the UK in 1977. Currie squatted in South London. She formed a band the Unfuckables that performed a single gig. In 1981, Currie joined Tom Bailey, Joe Leeway, and others to form part of Thompson Twins, the line-up of which included up to seven members in its early days. Tom Lord-Alge (born January 17, 1962) is an American music engineer and mixer. He began his career at Unique Recording in New York. Subsequently, he was the resident mixer at what used to be known as "South Beach Studios", located on the ground floor of the Marlin Hotel. Lord-Alge received two Grammy Awards for his work on Steve Winwood's '' Back in the High Life'' (1986), and '' Roll with It'' (1988), both winning in the 'Best Engineered Recording – Non-Classical' category. Vaneese Yseult Thomas (born August 24, 1952) is an American R&B, jazz and soul blues singer, best known for her 1987 US ''Billboard'' R&B chart hit single, "Let's Talk It Over". Charles Arthur Russell Jr. (May 21, 1951 – April 4, 1992) was an American cellist, composer, producer, singer, and musician from Iowa, whose work spanned a disparate range of styles. After studying contemporary composition and Indian classical music in California, Russell relocated to New York City in the mid-1970s, where he became involved in Lower Manhattan's avant-garde community and later the city's burgeoning disco scene.
