Waldnaab
The Waldnaab (Northern Bavarian: ''Woidnaab'', cs, Lesní Nába, in its upper course: ''Tirschenreuther Waldnaab'') is the left-hand, eastern and longest headstream of the River Naab in the Upper Palatinate ( Bavaria, Germany). At its confluence with the Haidenaab near Luhe-Wildenau, the Naab is formed. The Waldnaab is 99.1 km long; combined with the Naab, the total length is . Course The Tirschenreuth Waldnaab The river rises at on the German- Czech border in the Upper Palatine Forest not far from the 901 m high Entenbühl and near its smaller brother, the ''Naabberg'' (). Its source, also called the ''Kreuzbrunnen'', lies in the district of Tirschenreuth, near ''Silberhütte''. From its wellspring the water flows for just under three metres on German soil, before crossing into Bohemia for almost a kilometre, where it is known as the ''Lesní Nába'', and then flowing northwest, re-crossing the German border and reaching Bärnau. Bundesautobahn 93
is an autobahn in Bavaria with a length of 276 km. It consists of two parts: one is a short track, from the A 8, near the Austrian border, to the Inntal Autobahn (A12) in Tyrol, Austria, the other from Hof A 72 in the north of Bavaria to Holledau A 9. A connection between the two parts was planned but not implemented. For a connection of the two tracks Bundesstraße B 15n is in construction and will be the foundation of the Autobahn A 93 later on. Flossenbürg, Bavaria
Flossenbürg (Northern Bavarian: ''Flossenbirch'') is a municipality in the district of Neustadt an der Waldnaab in Bavaria in Germany. The state-approved ''leisure area'' is located in the Bavarian Forest and borders Bohemia (the Czech Republic) in the east. During World War II, the Flossenbürg concentration camp was located here. History The first reference of Flossenbürg's existence was in 948. Its castle was the Hohenstaufen's stronghold. Later, Flossenbürg belonged to the duchy of Neuburg-Sulzbach and came to the regional court of Floß in the Electorate of Bavaria in 1777. Today, it is located in the administrative region of Oberpfalz. The town was the site of Flossenbürg concentration camp from 1938 until 1945. On April 23, 1945, the U.S. 90th Infantry Division of the 3rd Army liberated the camp and took it without any fighting. Haidenaab
The Haidenaab is the right and western headstream of the River Naab in the Upper Palatinate in the south German state of Bavaria. At its confluence with the Waldnaab near Luhe-Wildenau, the Naab is formed. Course The river rises in the district of Bayreuth on the southern edge of the Fichtelgebirge mountains between Kirchenpingarten and the mountain of ''Platte'' (), about seven kilometres north of Speichersdorf. From there the ''Haidenaab'' heads in a southeasterly direction before reaching the district of Tirschenreuth by the Renaissance castle of Schlackenhof, where it is joined from the northwest by the ''Flernitzbach''.
