WKND
WKND (1480 kHz) is a commercial broadcasting, commercial AM broadcasting, AM radio station licensed to the city of Windsor, Connecticut. Both the transmitter site and the studios are in Windsor. WKND is owned by Gois Broadcasting of Connecticut, LLC. WKND operates with 500 watts during the day and 14 watts at night. WKND airs a Rhythm and blues, R'n'B and gospel music format. Its programming is also heard on FM translator W248CR (97.5). History WKND signed on in 1961, as WSOR, and featured a country music and Polish language in the United States, Polish format. It was a 500-watt daytime-only station. After a couple sales of the station in the mid-1960s, WSOR became WEHW in 1966. In 1969, The KND Corporation purchased the station, and changed the callsign to WKND. WNEZ (1230 AM) is a radio station broadcasting a Spanish variety format. Licensed to Manchester, Connecticut, United States, the station serves the Hartford-New Britain- Middletown area. The station is owned by Gois Broadcasting of Connecticut, LLC. Its programming is also heard on FM translator W287CS (105.3) in Manchester. Prior use of 1230 kHz The 1230 kHz frequency, and its pre-NARBA predecessor of 1200 kHz, were occupied from August 1936 to February 1954 by WTHT, a station owned by ''The Hartford Times'' newspaper. WTHT was Hartford's third radio station, affiliated with the Mutual Broadcasting System from 1936 to 1945 and ABC from 1945 to 1954. An FM adjunct, WTHT-FM 106.1, operated from 1948 to 1950. CJEC-FM (91.9 Hertz, MHz) is a French-language Canada, Canadian radio station located in Quebec City, Quebec City, Quebec. CJPX-FM (99.5 Hertz, MHz) is a French language, French-language Canada, Canadian radio station located in Montreal, Montreal, Quebec. The Wknd
The Wknd is a media company based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and produces music events and digital video content that focuses on Southeast Asian music.
