W. Craig Zwick
William Craig Zwick (born June 30, 1947) has been a general authority of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) since 1995. Zwick was born in Salt Lake City, Utah. He received a degree in business management and finance from the University of Utah. Career Zwick started working for his father's construction company, Zwick Construction Inc., and eventually became the owner and operator. They built many hospitals and schools. The company also frequently performed construction jobs for the LDS Church. These projects included the Family History Library, the South Visitors Center on Temple Square, the Museum of Church History and Art, and the Portland Oregon Temple. In the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church), the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles (also known as the Quorum of the Twelve, the Council of the Twelve Apostles, or simply the Twelve) is one of the governing bodies in the church hierarchy. Hyrum Smith
Hyrum Smith (February 9, 1800 – June 27, 1844) was an American religious leader in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, the original church of the Latter Day Saint movement. He was the older brother of the movement's founder, Joseph Smith, and was killed with his brother at Carthage Jail where they were being held awaiting trial. In the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church), an area is an administrative unit that typically is composed of multiple stakes and missions. These areas are the primary church administrative unit between individual stakes or missions and the church as a whole. History The areas as they now exist were formed in January 1984. Prior to that time, general authorities served as "area supervisors" and at times resided outside of Salt Lake City. In 1984, 13 initial areas were created; by 1992 there were 22, and by early 2007 there were 31. As of August 2024, there are 23 areas, with a new Canada Area, effective August 1, 2025.
