Van Vloten is a Dutch List of Dutch patrician families, patrician family from Vleuten. History The oldest known family member is one Meindert Cornelisz van der Haer (later van Vloten), who was a carpenter in Utrecht and died in 1666. Johannes van Vloten (January 18, 1818 – September 21, 1883) was a Dutch scholar, literary historian and philosopher. Martha Van Vloten
Martha (Aramaic: מָרְתָא) is a biblical figure described in the Gospels of Luke and John. Together with her siblings Lazarus and Mary of Bethany, she is described as living in the village of Bethany near Jerusalem and witnessing Jesus resurrecting her brother, Lazarus. Frederik Willem van Eeden (3 April 1860, Haarlem – 16 June 1932, Bussum) was a late 19th-century and early 20th-century Dutch writer and psychiatrist. He was a leading member of the Tachtigers and the Significs Group, and had top billing among the editors of ''De Nieuwe Gids'' (''The New Guide'') during its celebrated first few years of publication, starting in 1885. Willem Arnoldus Witsen (13 August 1860 – 13 April 1923, Amsterdam) was a Dutch painter and photographer associated with the Amsterdam Impressionism movement. Witsen's work, influenced by James McNeill Whistler, often portrayed calm urban landscapes as well as agricultural scenes.
