''Valentine Wheels'' is the sixty-fourth release and ninth live album by Tangerine Dream. The album was recorded in 1997 from the first half of the Shepherds Bush concert. The album was initially available only through the internet. The next year, the album was officially released at retail. This is the final album to feature guitarist Zlatko Perica as a member. Tangerine Dream
Tangerine Dream is a German electronic music band founded in 1967 by Edgar Froese. The group has seen many personnel changes over the years, with Froese the only constant member until his death in January 2015. The best-known lineup of the group was its mid-1970s trio of Froese, Christopher Franke, and Peter Baumann. In 1979, Johannes Schmoelling replaced Baumann until his own departure in 1985. This lineup was notable for composing many movie soundtracks. Since Froese's death in 2015, the group has been under the leadership of Thorsten Quaeschning. Quaeschning is Froese's chosen successor and is currently the longest-serving band member, having joined in 2005. Quaeschning is currently joined by violinist Hoshiko Yamane who joined in 2011 and Brandt Brauer Frick, Paul Frick who joined in 2020. Edgar Froese
Edgar Willmar Froese (; 6 June 1944 – 20 January 2015) was a German musical artist and electronic music pioneer, best known for founding the electronic music group Tangerine Dream in 1967. Froese was the only continuous member of the group until his death. His solo and group recordings prior to 2003 name him as "Edgar Froese", and his later solo albums bear the name "Edgar W. Froese". Biography Froese was born in Tilsit, East Prussia (now Sovetsk, Russia), on D-Day during World War II; members of his family, including his father, had been killed by the Nazis and after the war his mother and surviving family settled in Berlin. He took piano lessons from the age of 12, and started playing guitar at 15. After showing an early aptitude for art, Froese enrolled at the Academy of the Arts in Berlin to study painting and sculpture. ''Sohoman'' is the sixty-fifth release and tenth live album by Tangerine Dream. Remixed and released in 1999, it is sourced from the first set of the 22 February 1982 concert at the Regent Theatre in Sydney Australia. When compared to fan recordings, ''Sohoman'' was heavily edited in the studio. It is the first in the Tangerine Dream Classics Edition series, preceding '' Soundmill Navigator'' and '' Antique Dreams''. Zlatko Perica (born 16 February 1969 in Rijeka, Yugoslavia) is a guitarist. He played for the German group Tangerine Dream, joining in 1992 but in 1994 recorded his only studio album ('' Turn of the Tides'') with the band, and in 1997 he would appear on his last live album ('' Valentine Wheels'') with them. Jerome Froese
Jerome Froese (born 24 November 1970 in Schöneberg, West Berlin, West Germany) is a German musician who, in 1990, officially joined his father Edgar Froese in the band Tangerine Dream. He remained a member until 2006. Prior to his direct involvement in Tangerine Dream, Froese often appeared on the covers of the band's albums as a child, beginning with the 1973 release of '' Atem'', when he was two years four months old at the time the album was released. Career In 1982, Froese started playing guitar and keyboard. A few years later, in 1985, he began playing drums after he got a drumkit for Christmas. From here, Froese became proficient on both keyboards and guitar, leading up to his induction into Tangerine Dream.
