This is the family tree of the Austrian Von Graben family. Originally from Carniola, the House Von Graben is an apparent (or illegitimate) branch of the House of Meinhardin. The family went on to rule some Carinthian, Tyrolian, East Tyrols, modern Italian, Styrian, and Gorizian districts as Burggrafen (a sort of Viscounts) and Lords (Herren) from the early Middle Ages until the 16th–17th century. Carniola
Carniola ( sl, Kranjska; , german: Krain; it, Carniola; hu, Krajna) is a historical region that comprised parts of present-day Slovenia. Although as a whole it does not exist anymore, Slovenes living within the former borders of the region still tend to identify with its traditional parts Upper Carniola, Lower Carniola (with the sub-part of White Carniola), and to a lesser degree with Inner Carniola. De Graeff (; also: '' De Graef, Graef, Graeff, Graaff'', Graaf and ''De Graeff van Polsbroek'') is an old Dutch patrician and noble family, The Amsterdam line of the family played an important role during the Dutch Golden Age. They were at the centre of Amsterdam and Holland public life and oligarchy from 1578 until 1672, and belonged to the Dutch States Party. Wolfgang von Graben, also ''Wolfgang de Groben (de Gröben)'' and ''Wolfgang Grabenski'' (1465 – 11 December 1521) was born in Kornberg castle, Styria and a member of the Austrian nobility. Ulrich III Von Graben
Ulrich III von Graben († 16 February 1486) was a member of the Austrian nobility and an important member of the court of emperor Frederick III of Austria. He was Lord of Kornberg, the Lordship Marburg, Obermarburg and Maribor Castle. Furthermore his served as an imperial Burggraf of Graz and Marburg (Maribor) and Landeshauptmann of Styria. Frederick II von Graben (died before 1463), also called Frederick the Younger (german: Friedrich der Jüngere), was a Styrian noble, a member of the '' edelfrei'' Von Graben family. He held the titles as Lord of Kornberg and Marburg, the Lordship Marburg, (in Lower Styria), as well as burgrave of Riegersburg. Ulrich II von Graben (before 1300 – ) was a Styrian noble, a member of the ''edelfrei'' Von Graben family. He held the titles as Lord of Kornberg and Graben Castle (near Novo Mesto in Lower Carniola), as well as burgrave of Gleichenberg, Rothenfels and Hohenwang. Life Origin and Family He was the son of Ulrich I von Graben, burgrave of Gleichenberg, and his wife Gertrud (both died before 1325).
