Volodymyr Derkach
Major General Volodymyr Fedorovych Derkach (Ukrainian: Володимир Федорович Деркач) is a retired Ukrainian musician who worked for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. His last post he served in was as the Senior Military Director of the Military Music Department of the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (MMD-GSAFU). He also served concurrently as the director of the National Exemplary Band of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Professional career Derkach was born in the village of Yabluchne, of the Velyka Pysarivka Raion of the Ukrainian SSR. He started his musical career in 1977, after he graduated from his trumpet class at the Sumy Music College. From then on, Derkach began to serve as a musician of the Soviet Armed Forces, first serving in the 14th Band of the Kyiv Military District. People's Artist Of Ukraine
People's Artist of Ukraine is an honorary and the highest title awarding to outstanding performing artists whose merits are exceptional in the sphere of the development of the performing arts (theatre, music, dance, circus, cinema, etc.). Established in 1922 during Soviet times, it was technically called People's Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (Народний артист УРСР). With the establishment of independent Ukraine, this tradition was kept and the title was renamed as People's Artist of Ukraine (Народний артист України). Its recipients include many of the most highly acclaimed composers, dancers, singers, musicians, film and theatre directors, actors, circus performers, etc. During Soviet times, a person was usually named People's Artist only after reaching the age of 40. 2010 Kyiv Victory Day Parade
The 2010 Kyiv Victory Day Parade was held on May 9, 2010, in Kyiv, honoring the 65th anniversary of the Soviet Union's victory in the Great Patriotic War (in 2015 Ukraine altered this day to Victory Day over Nazism in World War II). Military vehicles and soldiers dressed in Soviet Army uniforms marched on Khreschatyk Street and through Maidan Nezalezhnosti. Inspecting the parade was the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces General of the Army Ivan Svyda while the commander of the Ukrainian Ground Forces, Colonel General Henadii Vorobiov commanded the parade. The decree for holding the parade was signed on 23 March of that year. Zaporizhian March ( uk, Запорозький марш) is an expressive Ukrainian folk musical art that was preserved and revived by bandurist Yevhen Adamtsevych. The march became more famous after its arrangement by who merged the march with the folk song about Doroshenko and Sahaidachny (). "Farewell of Slavianka" (russian: Прощание славянки, Proščanije slavjanki) is a Russian patriotic march, written by the composer Vasily Agapkin in honour of Slavic women accompanying their husbands in the First Balkan War. The march was written and premiered in Tambov in the end of 1912. In summer of 1915 it was released as a gramophone single in Kyiv. ''Slavianka'' means "Slavic woman". Colonel Volodymyr Anatolievich Dashkovsky (Ukrainian: Володимир Анатолійович Дашковський) also known as Vladimir Dashkovsky is a Ukrainian military conductor and composer who serves as the Senior Military Director of the Military Music Department of the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (MMD-GSAFU) based in Kyiv.
