Volleyball At The 2018 Asian Games
Volleyball at the 2018 Asian Games was held in two venues in Indonesia. All matches were held at the Gelora Bung Karno Sports Complex, GBK Tennis Indoor and the Bulungan Sports Hall, Jakarta. Gelora Bung Karno Sports Complex
The Bung Karno Sports Complex (), better known as Gelora Bung Karno; formerly named the Asian Games Complex ( and the Senayan Sports Complex () from 1969 to 2001, is a sports complex located in Gelora, Tanah Abang, Gelora, Central Jakarta, bordering the Senayan, Kebayoran Baru, Senayan, South Jakarta because of its large location. Originally built with substantial Soviet Union, Soviet assistance, this sports complex was a brain child of Sukarno, the first President of Indonesia, in order to host the 1962 Asian Games. This sports complex consists of Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, a main stadium, Gelora Bung Karno Madya Stadium, secondary stadium, the Istora Gelora Bung Karno, Sports Palace, football fields, Gelora Bung Karno Aquatic Stadium, aquatic stadium, tennis stadiums (indoor and outdoor), hockey, baseball and archery fields, and several indoor gymnasiums. Ali Shafiei
Ali Shafiei (, born September 21, 1991, in Amol) is an Iranian volleyball player who plays as a middle blocker for the Iranian national team and Labaniat Haraz. He was named Breakout Star Of The 2014/15 Iranian Volleyball Super league. He made his debut for Iran against France in the 2018 Nations League. He has become a fixed member of Iran's national squad since. Kim Kyu-min (; born 28 December 1990) is a volleyball player from South Korea. He currently plays as a middle blocker for the Incheon Korean Air Jumbos club in V-League. Career As a senior at Kyonggi University in 2013, Kim completed in the Summer Universiade and East Asian Games as a member of the collegiate national team. Kim was drafted in the 1st round of the 2013 V-League Draft, 5th overall, by Ansan OK Savings Bank. In the 2013–14 season, Kim averaged 0.44 blocks per set, ranked 10th in the league. The following season, Kim averaged 0.55 blocks per set (10th in the league) and led his team to its first V-League championship win. Lee Min-gyu (; born 3 December 1992) is a volleyball player from South Korea. He currently plays as a setter for the Ansan OK Savings Bank. Lee made his first appearance for the South Korean national team in 2012 and played all of the team's six matches at the 2012 Asian Men's Cup Volleyball Championship, where the team finished in fifth place.
